    Default Question about limits

So I recently started playing on Absolute to rebuild my poker bankroll. (I used to play 3-6NL on pokerroom) But I had been away from the game for awhile so I wasnt overly confident in my ability. Anyways ive been playing .05-.10 to start out at, and I have more or less been killing the game. I am averaging about 50BB an hour and have not had a single losing session. Now I am just wondering giving the level of success I am seeing, what would be a good bankroll level I should hit in order to move up to .1-.25.

    danke.

The recommended bankroll for NL25 is $500 (20 x buy-in). Some are happy moving up with 15 x buy-in but I wouldn't personally recommend it.

As for killing NL10, you can only really say this after 20k+ hands. Many players run hot for 5000 or so hands and believe they're crushing it and move up the limits only to find they suddenly run horrible and bust out.

I agree. If you multitable then add one or two 25NL tables once you reach $500.

thanks for the fast responses, now i have a question about tourney buyins, chris ferguson suggests not buying in for more than 2% of ur bankroll, is this smart or do u have other figures u recommend?

I think Chris Ferguson was merely refering to his own rules whilst doing his challenge.

For SNG's, depending on your experience the recommended figure is anywhere between 30-50 x buy-in. As for MTT's it would be much higher. But then I would hazard a guess most MTT players would be playing either SNG's or cash games anyway so their BR's would still be primarily based on their main SNG or cash game requirements. Maybe others can advise you better regarding MTTs.

I like to have about 50 buyins (including fees) for SNGs, and for MTT, I like to have the buyin no more than 1% of my BR.

take your 1st steps into a new level a little tentatively, maybe buy in for 1/2 or 2/3 s the limit and as your reading and confidence grows so should your buy-in and in time the number of tables u play. if u take a hit dont allow your ego to drive u on , take a step backand get yourself prepard for the next time . REMEMBER u dont test the water by sticking yer head in the bath

Unless you're playing SSS I really dont see the point in sitting at a table with anything less than a full buy-in, especially something as pathetically low as 1/2 a buy-in. Really, what is the point in paying double the blind price to potentially win the same size pot as you would at the level below?

Isn't this also a huge tell that you're either playing scared or out of your depth?

I do agree with taking a step back though if you do take a hit. It's all a part of BR management.
