Default FTP - Take 2 Promo Get $5 free !

For those of you that play at Full Tilt, you should be aware of the current Take 2 Promotion going on now. You must opt in to participate. See below. If you start playing TODAY (4/8/09) and play for the next five days, you get $5 FREE. (It's too late to earn the additional $20 for all ten (10) days, but $5 free is still nice).

    Here's how:
Play any two cash tables at once in Take 2, Friday, April 3rd to Sunday, April 12th. You'll earn double Full Tilt Points on both tables. Play for five days during Take 2 and receive a $5 bonus. Play every day of the 10 day promotion and you'll get an extra $20. (Too late for that now).

To take part, log in to Full Tilt Poker, click on the Cashier and then the My Promotions button.

Select the Take 2 box and follow instructions on the Take 2, My Promotions page. You must Opt-in.

All you need to do while playing 2 tables simultaneously is earn one (1) Full Tilt point. To monitor your eligible Take 2 points while playing, click Cashier / My Promotions (taken to web)/ My Take 2. (Note the FT points accumulated in the Cashier differ somewhat from the Take 2 eligible points so watch your Take 2 page to see that you got there). Really it's that easy. I played the .01/.02 tables and I got $5 paid today and plan on playing for the next five days too for an additional $20.00. Be sure to opt in to the promotion and confirm. You wont get it unless you opt-in.

    Good luck at tables.

Default Got My $25.00 Free !

Well, I played .01/.02 NLHE for the 10 days required under the FT Take 2 promotion, got at least 1 FTP per day, and FT gave me $25.00 ! I started at FT w/ nothing, won $1.49 through a Rakeback Community Tour Tourney a while back (grinding through thousands to make the final table) and then played mostly cash games to build a small BR. Now I have a real micro BR to play with...

    Thanks RB !

Did you make it phosphorescence ??

did anyone notice if you got any rakeback deductions from getting the bonus?

i only got the $5 as didn't play a couple of days, think it landed the same day as the main event freeroll, which by the way hit me up for -$165 ish dollars of rake combined with iron man freerolls deduction from sat has lost me another chunk of rake back this week

    Default i have a feeling

i have a feeling you get charged for using it if you are on rakeback!

I remember when i joined you get a freeroll for joining worth $10,000 i think it was, i regisiter for the tourney never played it as i was out, but got charged on my rackback a silly amount because its part of the agreement, same with your FT points you are charged for using them in the shop etc!
Its the taking part that counts

Lol you don't get "charged" anything, you just lose some of your gross rake. With these promotions, you always generate more rake than what the promotion pays out, so the promotions are more beneficial than "hurtful" overall.

Ok charged was the wrong word to use hahahaha!

But it took a while (only play at small stakes) to get back on track, so i tend to keep away from freerolls and added value tourneys cause you have to make the short fall if its not covered by the entrants.

Just a quick one, but am i reading your post right but you said that you earn more rake than promos payout, but they are more beneficial than "hurtful" which way do you think is best?

Let me give an example of how it works and why it benefits you, even if it's not a "true" $5 benefit. I'll use the Iron Man Bonus I got... which isn't a great example because it didn't hit my MGR... but let's pretend it did.

I got $50 as a bonus for Iron Man. I needed to clear 1,000 points to get the bonus. Now, I played 6-max rush for this... so that is $166.67 in rake credited towards me.

    If they took the bonus from that amount: $166.67 - $50 = $116.67 [rake] * 27% = $31.50 [rakeback]

My net take for those 1,000 FTP points... $81.50

Without the bonus, if I played 1,000 points and generated $166.67 in rake... I would get $45.00 in rakeback. I got $36.50 more because of the promotion. Sure, it wasn't a real "$50" gain but it was still massively beneficial.

So a $5 bonus might really be worth $3.65 after you figure in the hit to your rakeback... but it's still $3.65 more than you would have otherwise.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

yeah thats all good isnt it! you make more money doing it that way! thanks for that it is defiantly worth doing the free $5 as you say its $3.65 you wouldnt have had.

But if you play in freerolls is that only going to worth it if you cash in the tourney?
