    Default KK @ nl4

Decided to chill out a bit and play some NL4 and discovered just how profitable it can be My only problem here however is playing pocket kings where I've been stacked twice already.

    Hand number 1

By the time we see the flop the pot is quite large already so not much chance of finding out where I am so just insta push.

$0.02/0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash Games, 6 Players

    Board:
    BB: $6.43
    UTG: $2.40
    UTG+1: $9.35
    CO: $3.22
    Button: $6.93
    HERO: $3.96

    Dealt to HERO K K

    Pre-flop:
    (1 folds), UTG+1 raises to $.14, (1 folds), Button calls $.14, HERO raises to $.60, (1 folds), UTG+1 calls $.46, Button calls $.46

    Flop: ($1.86) 9 5 T (3 Players)
    HERO all-in, HERO bets $3.36, UTG+1 calls $3.36, (1 folds)

    Turn: ($8.58) 8 (2 Players)

    River: ($8.58) A (2 Players)

    Results:
    UTG+1 Showed T T
    HERO Showed K K
    UTG+1 wins $8.14

Yep, he hits his set. Never mind.

    Hand number 2.

Now on any other limit I would consider getting all the chips in PF a result. Maybe not on NL4 though?

$0.02/0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash Games, 6 Players

    Board:
    Button: $7.68
    SB: $6.34
    HERO: $4
    UTG: $2
    UTG+1: $6.15
    CO: $1

    Dealt to HERO K K

    Pre-flop:
(1 folds), UTG+1 raises to $.18, CO calls $.14, Button calls $.18, (1 folds), HERO all-in, HERO raises to $4, (1 folds), CO calls $.82, CO all-in, Button calls $3.82

    Flop: ($9.20) 8 Q J (3 Players)

    Turn: ($9.20) 7 (3 Players)

    River: ($9.20) A (3 Players)

    Results:
    Button Showed J A
    HERO Showed K K
    CO Showed T Q
    Button wins $6
    Button wins $2.74

    Oh well.

I think getting the money in on both hands was always going to be unavoidable no matter how they played out. Should I just be considering myself unlucky here and moving on or is there a better way to play KK?

Edit to add...I guess if I had pushed hand #1 TT might have folded PF and had I played hand #2 the conventional way then middle pair might have folded on the flop. Doubt it though

This happens a lot at $4NL. The good news is that people on that level will continue to over pay and most of the time you'll win. So the wins will more than make up for the big losses like this.

It sucks to get stacked, no matter the limit. It is going to have to happen occasionally.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

Yeah I've certainly been paid on other hands and more often than not, I'm getting paid by 2 or more which rarely seems to happen on higher limits. It just might be my new home for a while

I'm not too bothered by these 2 beats but I'm wondering whether I should just carry on the aggression with KK PF or whether I should be seeing more flops 1st and making more decisions post flop.
