Default Why I can't win SNGs

I don't play many SNGs so that's why I was playing $2 games. Every once in a while I feel like playing a couple, so I played 2 tonight and was awarded with a big suckout in both.

What do you suggest? Is there a book I should read on getting better luck? It's a concept I'm not very familiar with.

It looks like you have a problem similar to mine. I ALWAYS run up against bad players who are running on the absolute highest end of variance. They run way too hot for me to beat them. Tough to win at poker when the easiest money at the table is beating you.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

human sacrifice works best. depending on the laws in your state, that may not be legal. in which case, small animals work too. just not quite as well.

You haven't killed enough kittens lately. This is one of the most common mistakes beginners make at poker.

Oh that's why. I was kicking puppies when I should have been killing kittens....I'm so stupid sometimes.

I really don't want to come across as an arse, but that's really a classic fundamental mistake so many poker players make.

    Default FT Matrix

If you havent tried the FT Matrix tourneys you should give it a whirl. You buy in for the $2.25 (or other amounts) and play 4 tables against the same 6 (or 9) opponents. The buy-ins are divided into 5 parts, 1 for each table and 1 for the Matrix pool (which pays the top 3 players overall in the tourney).

I suggest it since the "variance" equals out on 4 tables. You might take a bad beat like your 99hand once , but it wont happen 4 times. You dont have all your money riding on one un-lucky hand. Generally the better players finish in the money on 2-4 tables plus a part of the matrix pool.
If you always stop while you're ahead, you'll never lose.

I have tried these a couple times. They're kind of fun. I don't get the urge to play SNGs very often, though and if I do I normally only play one at a time.
