Default Full Ring vs 6max on Full TIlt

Assuming same stakes and same number of tables, which generates better rakeback?

with 6 players, you're probably playing more hands per hour. which means you're probably paying more rake. the more rake you pay, the more you get back. but i'm not sure if i'd consider that "better."

6max, for sure. I assume the biggest reason is because you only have to split it among the 6 players, and because you are playing looser and more hands.

6max, but you shouldn't be playing to generate more rakeback. Play what better fits your playing style. Rakeback should be a bonus.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Rakeback gives you 27-30% of what you pay back. Therefore, if your rakeback bonus is higher, you've actually spent more in rake. Therefore, focus your game on where you make money, and not where you get the highest rakeback bonus, because even though the bonus might be nice, you've still paid a larger amount of rake to get that bonus.

I realize that it's more important to simply be profitable at the game and I am beating it. But I can choose whether to play FR or 6m and will choose based on winrate (which includes rakeback).

My reason for asking the question was that on Stars, it seems that most of the people who pursue Supernova, mass multi table full ring or sng's.

The rake calculator on this site says 6m pays more rake but I can't figure out why SN chasers would play FR instead of 6m (unless the reason is they can multitable more).

Not only can they multi-table more, but I'd think you are more likely to hit the $8 pot in a full ring game compared to a 6m game.

It probably has a lot more to do with multi-tabling though, as if they are playing higher limits, that $8 pot will happen for the minimum 1 vpp nearly every hand, plus they have more people to act, allowing them to play more tables, allowing them to get more hands in per hour for the vpp's.

Do you ever multi-table? 16-tabling full ring cash games is immensely easier than the same amount of 6max tables. You can play well without being rushed, whereas 6max would really push you to the limits, creating lots of missed opportunities and mistakes.

People trying to hit supernova most definitely mass multi-table full ring or sngs because you can basically play like a robot, play profitable, and rack up points like crazy.
