Okay, so once I graduate, I'm going to be putting in hours and hours into poker. I'm graduating tomorrow, so this is soon. My ultimate goal is to be properly rolled for $5/$10 NL ($1,000NL). I definitely don't expect this to happen anytime soon whatsoever, but I'm going to be moving through the levels. I'm probably going to start out at $25NL, so it'll take a while, assuming that I can become a winning player at all the different levels. I've spent a fair amount of time playing limits higher than this, but never as "focused" as I am planning on playing now that I won't have school and studying in the way.
At no point, will I jump levels prior to playing 50k+ hands, even if I run hot and hit the next bankroll requirements. This is occurring in order to establish that I am in fact a winning player at each level. I almost think that this won't be an issue, because as I move up limits, so do the required number of buy-ins for each level. Also as the levels go up, so do the required number of hands for the most part. Starting out, I'll be playing 4 tables at a time for 4 hours a morning, 5 days a week minimum. The afternoons, I might hit up some SnG's and stuff, depending on how I feel. I'm also planning on doing an analysis of a series of hands (SnG or if I don't play in an SnG, 100ish hands from a cash table) where I'll explain why I did what I did, and why I thought the other players did what they did. Similar to Gus's book. The reason for this is selfish though as it will force me to take the time to review my own play. We'll see how long I stick to this lol... but I'm looking forward to it. This goal started forming when I saw how crazy soft casino play was at the lower cash limits. I want to get in those games as well, but I am refusing to play when I am not properly rolled for that limit.
