To the pros i suppose a million isn't that bad. I mean these guys have prop bets for hundreds of thousands of dollars on anything they can think of. One day it will be me too, in my dreams.

Because they have about 10 mill in the bank to live off of, and 50 mill in their bankrolls to fall back on. In high stakes games, expect the variance to be this much since the blinds are so high. And if one person does fall below the bankroll for the high stakes, they will dominate the lower stakes, and that's how more money is pumped into higher stakes. When big swings happen like that, and the person has to heal and replenish that wound with lower stakes.

I am going to take a wild guess and say that is how any limits work, down to the micro stakes.
