Default Full Tilt Iron Man and rakeback

I have never been an Iron Man myself, let alone iron chef, but since the questions are constantly popping up I did some research and wrote an information page about the Full Tilt Iron Man promotion and rakeback.

Please check the reasoning and calculations there, and see if you spot anything to correct or change, and if there is something that I have missed or you want more clarification on.

I tried to find out the value of Iron Man medals to a player that also has a Full Tilt rakeback deal, since many questions we get are concerning the effect of using Iron Man medals or playing the freerolls to your rakeback payments. It looks like the best value is by far gained from playing the Iron Man freerolls, if you have the time and know how to play tournaments good enough.

In my opinion the best way to take advantage of Iron Man is to buy the $75 tokens and play the 9 handed SNGs that pay out about $315 to 1st place.

This is a great article. Thanks for posting it. A couple of thoughts I had...

    1) You mentioned that if you don't play a lot of tournaments then the bonus is the way to go. However, wouldn't it still be better to take the token & just convert it to tournament $'s. Yes, there is a %5 cost, but it is cleared instantly in comparison to the bonus & at a higher value.

    2) I'm assuming that if you use a toke it does not help you qualify for Iron Man points in that event...or does it? If not, then converting a token to tournament $'s could help you get qualified for Iron Man points.

    Thoughts?

Wait, can you convert tokens now to T$? You couldn't the last time I checked. You could convert T$'s to cash, but you had to use a token in a either $24+$2 or a $69+$6 tournament.

My bad...you're correct. If you have a token, it has to be used in a tourney. If you register/unregister, then you get the token back. my apologies.

Regular Iron Man players start receiving more medals from consecutive Iron Man months. This will lower the comparative value of Iron Man freerolls for these players, but freerolls retain the best value until a player has qualified for Iron Man status for over one year. After one year the amount of medals gained begins to be so big that instead of freerolls you should be taking medals and using them to buy tournament tokens or Iron Man bonuses.

QUOTE FROM INFORMATION PAGE ABOVE (not sure how to put the quote code in manually)

Players get their regular iron man medals (the more months they play the more medals they get).
    +
Players get either bonus medals or a freeroll. (no matter how many months a player is into ironman the value of the freeroll or bonus medal will not change).

Example1. Player is in his first month and qualifies for iron status he recieves 100 medals + has the option to play the iron freeroll or take a bonus 100 medals

Example2. Player is in his eleventh month and qualifies for iron status he recieves 200 medals + has the option to play the iron freeroll or take a bonus 100 medals

Example3. Player is in his 40th month and qualifes for iron status he recieves 900 medals + has the option to play the iron freeroll or take a bonus 100 medals

Basically you should always be picking the freeroll because the bonus medal value doesnt increase.
Poker is a microcosm of all we admire and disdain about capitalism and democracy. Poker can be rough-hewn or polished, warm or cold, charitable and caring, or hard and impersonal, fickle and elusive, but ultimately poker is fair, and right, and just.
