    Default Slowly but surely...

Had taken some time off from poker because, well, I never really won.

3 weeks ago had a friend transfer me $5 on my FTP account and went to the 9 handed 2NL. 4 table $0.60 buy ins became 8 table $0.80 buy ins, which became 12 table $1 buy ins doing auto top off.

Broke the $100 barrier last night. Currently 12 table $1.50 auto-top off buy ins double up hit running. Will do $2 auto top off buy ins at $120. Keeping a strong BR of 50 buy ins minimum and I shall never go broke again. Very excited to move up to 5NL when I reach $300, then on to 10NL when I reach $600.

Have had some serious variance at these levels so far, but continue to keep growing my BR. I must say getting 27% rakeback.com/">rake back is a huge boost.

    Your thoughts? if any lol...

Sounds like you're running hot which is all well and good. I would try to get away from buying in short though. An adequate player doesnt need a $600 BR to play $10NL. I do admire your spirit though, keep it up.

Well I wouldn't say I'm running hot, as last week I went from $80 to $45 in one day rarely getting it in bad. I think I'm just playing better than I used to. As for buying in short are you referring to short stacking or buying in short in terms of my BR? Since I'm playing 12 tables at once I feel more comfortable having a minimum of 50 buy ins behind since a bad run can really add up. I'm sure a 50 buy in BR rule is very conservative to most people, but I feel that I play better when busting on a few tables won't put me on tilt or have me chasing losses. Once I get to 10NL at $600 I'll be doing 12 table $10 auto top off buy ins, so that will still be a minimum of $120 in play.

Fair enough if you're planning to buy in for the full amount when you hit NL10.

My only issue with not buying in for the full amount is you're not maximising profits when you get your monster hands.

BR is now a little over $200 with $25 in rake back coming on Friday. Still playing 2NL, but trying to get on the deep tables as much as possible doing $4 auto top off buy ins for those tables. Still playing 12 tables and pretty much crushing it. Taking the summer off from school and finished an internship last semester where I saved up some money, so no need for a job right now as I moved back with my parents for the first time in like 5 years at the beginning of this year. I'm 24 btw and slowly working on a Civil Engineering degree from GA Tech. Focusing on growing this BR until August.

Starting hand range of all pairs and paint with 10 kicker or better depending on position and whether the pot has been raised is definitely the way to go for low stakes. Also I never limp into a pot, making a 4x raise if it is limped to me. 3 betting with QQ KK AA, but not with AK as people at these stakes will 4 bet auto shove with any pair, and I try to avoid 50/50 all ins as much as possible. Started C betting where appropriate and it is definitely adding some profit.

I think the time I took off from playing and reflecting on my previously much looser game for these stakes is what has turned everything around.
