Has anyone had their funds froze due to government legislation? I am about to start playing for 'real money' on Full Tilt and was just curious if anyone has been picked on by the government.

I haven't had any problems from FTP you just need to send them a copy of your drivers license and a phone bill and they will send you a check when you want to cash out.

Full Tilt is one of the few that I haven't had a problem with thus far *knocks on wood* --- and yes, they send you a paper check... usually takes around 2 weeks to arrive.

And that was my major concern. Some 24,000 U.S. poker players were affected by this action. I just left Pokerstar's and now I am wondering if I am going to have to hold off on creating a new account with ANYONE

with the paper check option, i think full tilt takes $10 out of your rake for rakeback. so it'll cost you every time you cash out. just keep that in mind if you do create an account. so you can limit your number of withdrawals.

Why do you need to send a phone bill??

Most likely it's so they have two forms of identification that proves your valid address. I had that happen once but can't remember if it was on FT or some other site.

I actually just tried throwing the minimum up on full tilt, it went through surprisingly. However, I'm not going crazy by any means. As of right now, most of my bankroll is sitting in my bank account where it'll rest until this blows over. Until then, I have a very small bankroll on PS, and FT to play around with just to get by.

Sounds like a good plan right there. I just hate to make my first deposit a small one and be unable to fully take advantage of the 100% bonus

It amazes me that you are supposed to be the land of the free. Your government must be missing out on so much revenue it's unbelieveable. Makes me glad i only live on that really small island called Britain. Must admit poker isn't as much fun without you lot. Do you reckon the lack of online play will have an effect on your players and the WSOP?

About half of the players that play in the main event win seats playing online. Plus it will have other devastating consequences. Pro Players will lose sponsorship. The online poker sites fuel the poker world with their huge source of income. If it does happen the poker world will never be the same. On the other hand if it is legalized it could boom even more. It will be interesting to see what happens.

The lack of online play currently will not affect the WSOP. However, if everything gets shut down, I agree with your post.

Oh my. They keep trying to find way with ONLINE poker. so FARRR in Canada nothing has been done. Usually they follow lol.

I had 7k in checks from stars and full tilt which bounced at my bank! Hopefully this works itself out soon. Scary!
