Why do people do it? Why do they try and teach at the table? It doesn't make any sense to me.
Does it make them feel smart or important? Do they really think everyone else is impressed by their ability?
It gets worse when the people offering "lessons" on play tend to be bad players. Just today there was a person who ended up calling a bluff-shove when they hit a flush on the end. It was a trivially easy call and doesn't demonstrate any skill. The bluff-shove was really bad because there wasn't' any way it was going to work and the hand had value at showdown if they other person missed. It was also many times the size of the pot.
Anyway, the person with the flush starts berating the fish that shoved. They start explaining what their bets meant and everything else. Not like anyone cared. But they made the fish feel completely retarded. You can guess how long they hung around after that hand.
They were gone two hands later.
I don't understand why you would find a player that is really bad and is giving you money and would take the time to chase them away from the table. There's never a reason to be talking about strategy or skill level at the table. It's in bad taste and it's bad for the game.
{is frustrated that one of his favorite fish -- that he had position on -- was chased away by a retard who thought he would look important by pointing out how bad the fish played}
