Thanks for the nomination. Unfortunately I won't be able to play this weekend. There's a local event going on that I promised Carrie we would go to... can't back out now.

I am going to be with my family when this happens. But I might have internet access because we will be at the apple store. I'm bringing my laptop and hope to be able to play while they do whatever it is they need to do.

I am sitting in front of the Apple store right now. Everything seems to be connected at Full Tilt. So I should be able to play. This might be a sign that I have a problem. I am out with my family for a nice afternoon and I find a bench to curl up on to play.

The only problem is that it is like 100F out here and I am already sweating through my shirt. This could be painful.

Gg all. I took 2nd, but like frecklers said, it was a cold deck for me. Here is the last hand history:

    Full Tilt Poker Game #12927609895: PTOTW 58 (95626232), Table 1 - 100/200 - No Limit Hold'em - 14:34:05 ET - 2009/06/20
    Seat 1: gamer4life27 (1,770)
    Seat 3: frecklers (8,730)
gamer4life27 posts the small blind of 100
frecklers posts the big blind of 200
The button is in seat #1
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to gamer4life27 [Q A]
gamer4life27 raises to 1,770, and is all in
    frecklers calls 1,570
    gamer4life27 shows [Q A]
    frecklers shows [K 9]
    *** FLOP *** [4 Q 2]
    *** TURN *** [4 Q 2] [K]
    *** RIVER *** [4 Q 2 K] [5]
gamer4life27 shows a pair of Queens
frecklers shows a pair of Kings
frecklers wins the pot (3,540) with a pair of Kings
    gamer4life27: ugghh.. gg
    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot 3,540 | Rake 0
    Board: [4d Qh 2c Kh 5h]
Seat 1: gamer4life27 (small blind) showed [Q A] and lost with a pair of Queens
Seat 3: frecklers (big blind) showed [K 9] and won (3,540) with a pair of Kings

Edit: Made that comment because that was the second time he sucked out on me. First time he did it I checked top pair, he shoved with middle pair and hit his kicker on the river to take a 2 to 1 chip lead over me. So all in all, we played an intense heads up battle and it all came down to the cards.

In the ends cards did, as ever, dictate. I got lucky on a couple of hands and also gamer caught big cards when I had slightly better.

I ran pretty good throughout with the odd bit of good play (I hope)

Considering the conditions I was playing in, I am quite happy with how I fared. I probably could have done better if I had been at home and in a cool environment. I might not have raised and been committed to the hand which crippled me. Although, I was probably going to raise any cards there against the player just because he was too short for me to give them a walk with anything reasonable.

I ended up spending another couple hours at the Apple store. My sister's computer was really messed up and they were working on it the entire time. I didn't get food until 4pm. I hadn't eaten all day. I was starving!

    lol

Lol, we all think that we are the only ones to win. I know that this is a game that has a little bit of luck. And that little bit of luck can be the deciding factor between 1st and 2nd place (as it did here). All I could do was play my best against a great opponent. So even though I want to agree with that comment, I am pretty sure everyone could say that they deserved to win if that comment was directed to them. But I thank you for the gesture.

Haha! We are all a dedicated, loyal, and somewhat crazy group of PTOTW players. You were on the sidewalk in front of a mall in 97 heat, I rode 10+ miles with my laptop and charger to the nearest place with wireless, what else would we do for a PTOTW invite? (feels like the Klondike commercial now)...
