    Default Bb/100

I just downloaded and started using PT3. How large of a hand sample should I have on myself before I can get an accurate figure for BB/100? 20,000 hands? 50,000 hands?

Also, what is a respectable number for this statistic? Just started tracking myself yesterday. After 3300 hands mine is 6.25.

When cash gaming, it is said to gather up at least 50k hands before moving up in limits. If you're a winning player, your BB/100 should be around 5-10 IIRC. Of course, it all depends on which limits you're playing at as some players seem to maintain 15+ BB/100 at micro/low stakes.

There's also some players who haven't dwelt for 50k at the same limit but I think 50k hands is the bare minimum to know if you're consistently winning/losing at one said limit.

Conversely, if you're losing money, don't wait for a 50k hands sample ! Then, just look at the number of buy-ins you've lost and if it's bigger what your bankroll can handle, just move down.

    Hope this helps.

Well a month and a half ago I started with $10 at $2NL. I'm now at $5NL with a BR just over $300 as of yesterday. I also just moved from 12 tables to 16 tables so I'll be playing even more hands. I'm hoping by late July or early August I'll have my BR at $1000 and be playing $10NL.

I just found some site that says 0-3 is beating the game, 4-7 is crushing, and 8+ is running ridiculously hot. So I'd be happy around the 5 or 6 mark.

Well, cash games aren't my main center of interest so maybe the figures I gave you are completely wrong.

Considering your bankroll, 25 full buy-ins should be the minimum and your current state is definitely good. Just keep making it grow and move up when you're confident enough.
