You haven't given us enough information to answer this question.

What are the stack sizes of the people around the table?
    What position are you in?
What has happened during this hand up to this point (limpers, raising, folding, etc)?
    What is your image?
What is the image of the people to act behind you?
What has happened in recent hands?
Are there players who like to call larger over-bets in an attempt to bet others off the flop?
    How loose is the table?

That will give us a general idea. With full stacks, at an average table, I am usually making a decent sized raise but a lot of situations call for other things.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.
