    Default 2 plo8 tournament hands.

i tried to go to bed but a hand i busted out of a tourney today was bothering me. I dont have the hand history so i do by best to type it with aproximate chip counts.

the game is plo8 and we are still about 100 away from the money. I have around 4k chips and the blinds are 75/150. I am in the big with two callers and the small blind also called.

Looking at just the results i played the hand correctly. (in my opinion) However dealing with the ranges of hands my opponent could have had i think i may have played incorrectly.

I also think he played the hand poorly but maybe if i didnt know my hand and put myself in his situation i may have did the same thing.

I have A673 with a two diamonds (not the ace).

flop is j67 two diamonds. I bet pot and get 1 caller. pot is now 1800 and i have around 3k. turn is 4 no diamond. i bet pot and he calls. river is ace. couterfitting my low and but leving me with aces up and a live 3. I feel i am pot comitted at this point and there is enough of a chance i am getting half the pot so i put my last 1200 in. (pot was at 5400)

he shows 2345 for the scoop. i'm out of the tourney

Please comment on how i played the hand as well as how he played it.

Here is another hand that knocked me out today. Again based on the results i played correctly (once again in my opinion) but based on my opponents ranges i may have play incorrectly. I actually have the hand history on this one

    Hand 1:

I think you're giving your bottom two pair way too much credit. Then again, you do have the second nut low draw which could very well be good given the preflop action. A pot size bet on the flop is IMO not necessary. A check for potcontrol would to the trick, since most players won't fold to any flop bet if they have kind of a decent draw and you have nowhere near the nuts. Your opponent's stack size would be important to know to estimate his play at this point. In general, I don't mind his call on the flop. If he doesn't hit, it's an easy fold on the turn or he might even get to see a free river.

The 4 on the turn is a scare card for you. Still, you can assume that your low is good and that you have 6 outs to scoop the pot. Given the pot size, I think you have to go for it. The ace on the river kills your hand but there's also a chance that it killed his. I don't blame you for moving in with your last chips.

    Hand 2:

Again, you're giving your hand way too much credit. You have aces .. so what? Unless you have a 2, 3 or maybe even a 4 to go with that, it's not a great hand. With that said, no raise preflop (potcontrol). Why the huge bet on the flop? You're basically trying to bluff an opponent who has most likely hit that flop perfectly.

IMO you played this hand poorly.

Regarding the way your opponent played it, I don't see a problem. While the 9 is pretty much worthless and the ace isn't suited, he's got the stack to take a look at the flop.
