Default Complain about Beats, Variance, and anything else involving the demon called "Poker"

This thread's intended use is for people to be allowed to complain without other people complaining about the complainers. In other words, post freely any beat/bad session complaints here. Anytime you have a bad day, or something just ticks you off, heck, you could even make a bad play and just want to vent, so here is the place to do so.

    Rules
    1. Don't make fun of anyone else's complaints
    2. Supporting others during their complaints is welcomed
    3. Don't make up complaints just for the sake of adding a complaint
    4. Feel free to make as many complaint posts as you want
    5. Don't apologize for complaining

    I'll start.

After nearly 7k hands of freaking $10NL, I just dropped several buy-ins today. I'm now down to making a big whopping 2.38BB/100 hands while 2-6 tabling these stakes. So now I'm all frustrated again with grinding the cash games. It's so much easier to make money playing people heads-up. My "credited" rake amount is $105.70, yet I'm up only a very tiny fraction of that. I've made more in rakeback than I've made at the cash tables because of today's session.

I lost 7 buyins in 600 hands playing nl hu cash. Set up hands mixed in with coolers mixed in with suckouts. It was lame. I've been a break-even full ring nl200 cash game player for the past 2 months while being categorized as a shark. There are leaks in my game that I can't find because everything I analyze is spot on, which makes me think the only leak is that I somehow lose money while playing better than everyone else.

Story of my entire ****ing night.

I lay down TT prior to this from early position because there are two people who are going to be going out on the bubble prior to me, and then I lost one big hand against one of the short stacks and then this hand happens. I become freaking bubble boy. I hate poker right now.

I only played for 1.5 hours today before being forced to quit due to massive tilt from the following hands.

P.S. I hate shortstackers more than I hate musicals

Hahaha, wow. Looks familiar. I don't understand shortstackers. Are they that terrible post flop that they can't buy in for more than 20bb's? I understand the concept, it just seems stupid to me.

I would estimate that they don't have the skill or bankroll to fullstack their current levels and so they shortstack to breakeven while taking the rakeback. 16 tabling 100NL on full tilt earns me $13.5/hr in rakeback which isnt bad for the shortstackers that have no idea what poker even is.

    :::Officially on tilt now:::

I cannot win with the best hand. I need two days to qualify for iron man status. I'm finished playing until the 29th. Time for a break. If I took another beat right now, I wouldn't be playing again for quite a while, so until the 29th, I'm breaking from any real money online poker games. Out of bordom, I might play a freeroll or two, but that's it. I still have a few live things I'll be playing in, but that's only because I've already told people I'd show up. I just cannot take it anymore; hopefully after more than a week off, I won't feel like that anymore.

Dew - even though we've had our run ins, I empathise with you as that sounds like bad a run.

I lost two tourneys in a row this evening with cowboys - each time to a donk calling my all in reraise with their Ace rag who, each time, hit on the river. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr The first time it happened I wanted to scream. The second time, my neighbours wanted me to *stop* screaming!!

i was playing a $22 single table SNG last night and had this happen to me. i limped with 22. everyone folded except the bb. the blinds were 200 and 400. so they were getting up there. the flop was 8 8 2. i flopped a full house. he shoves all in. i call. he has QJ. turn was a Q. river was a Q. i can't complain too much. i still came back to take first. but that was my worst beat in a while.

Regardless of how anyone feels about anyone else posting on this site, I think we can all empathize with someone who is running bad. And I think we can all respect each other even when we disagree elsewhere.

Ouch, that last one hurt me all the way over here. But at least the money went in good... that has to count for something... right? Yeah, I know... it doesn't feel like it counts for anything.

Well yeah, I mean, I'm glad he had pretty much the hand I figured he did. I'm also glad I made the right play to get it all in on the flop with the guy. His bet-raise felt like AA or KK and not a hand that had me beat, so I decided to call. I would feel differently about the hand had he been leading. I'm just frustrated. I had a set of 4's destroy my KK on a Q 2 4 flop yesterday (I got in bad there) as well as my top set get crushed by a rivered AA set after all in on the flop with a board of K 2 7, and QQ vs J4s all in-preflop (the guy was an obvious fish and refused to lay down a hand pre-flop, so I just donk-shoved and he calls with J4s lol...he later went 3 ways all-in preflop with the two large stacks at the table with A3s... he was pretty much drawing dead against AA and KK and passed all the monies he made from me to the new monster stack) and all of those were for 200+ BB pots within the last 2 days. I've just seen the ugly side of variance and have the hands to back it up. This one hurt though... I mean, runner runner flush is a dagger lol. Especially for that many BB's.

The thing that hurts more than anything else though is the fact that it put me in the red for NL $10. For the month of July, I've spent almost 8k hands in $10nl... not a ton obviously, but after 8k hands, I feel like I should be up a bit more.

But, that's poker. I think it's even more frustrating because I have been forcing myself to try to play no higher than $10NL, and because of nights like this, I'm somehow "break-even" now... lol, if it weren't for rakeback... Oh well, rant over. I feel a bit better.

Edit: All right, I'm feeling a *little* better now. I finally had most of my hands hold up in cheap sng and won it, although I went out on the bubble in the other one I was playing at the same time. Then I was playing a guy heads up, and I got him down to 2BB and decided I was going all in with him until he had 16 BB (800 chips) or busted out, and he sucked out on me the first time... Q10 vs J8, but I sucked out hard on the next hand with 10 6o vs JJ. Pretty bad, but I figured once he doubled up, if I kept shoving he might lay a hand down unless he had a real hand because he seemed like a pretty weak player. Unlucky for me, he woke up with JJ, lucky for me, I sucked. Woops. The funny thing is my all in EV wasn't really hurt by the suckout because he was so crazy low in chips lol.

I am so sick of the BS All in calls.

I don't have the hand histories but stuff like

AJ .v. KJ, K on flop

    or my favorite

    A7 .v. A6, which I 3bet all in (bubble spot in SnG)

    Flop comes JT6
and then just to mess with me
it'll give me either J, T or an 8 to open up more outs before it rivers another 6

I've bulit up a nice bankroll but it wasn't getting it in with the worst of it =\ maybe i need to take a course in how to play like a pure donkey.

I'll leave you with the Last all in that almost tilted me, it was a live game.

I had AQ in the BB, SB is a weak player, Button is kinda meh, been hot, but doesn't understand the game to well. Late stages of tourney, down 4 handed. Button Calls, SB shoves (has me covered), i know I beat most of his range but he has me covered by a good bit (my stack is probably 1/3 of his). I shove, the Button thinks for a few because this will be for 60-70% of his stack. He thinks longer and then finally calls

so it was AQo .v. SB's A9o .v. KQo from the Button.

Flop comes A36, I am very happy, huge favorite. Turn T, meh, just meh......River J, KQ makes a str8 to eliminate everyone but the one guy who folded lol

ok I am done venting, back to the tables.

I do need to learn how to add this ability to my arsenal of moves.

Short stack moves all in, I come over the top with AKs to isolate him because I don't want to play a big multiway pot with AKs and then some idiot calls with QJo lol

flop: JJ2 gg Wyteman and short stack......how do you call all in with QJo?
