New Florida Poker Laws Might Be Coming

Once the bill takes effect (after the new compact is published in the Federal Law), the poker laws in Florida will change to:

No betting or buy-in limits. Cardrooms and casinos can lay any stakes with any buy-in for both cash game and tournament.

Cardrooms at pari-mutuels can be open 18hrs/day M-F; 24hrs/day S-S and holidays.

Pari-mutuels which don't have a cardroom can apply for a cardroom license immediately, or if they are brand new, after they have held one single race day.

This will be awesome if it passes. No longer will you be forced to play $200NL with a 50xBB buy-in. Right now you can't sit in any game with more than $100. That creates some really crazy tables. Some people will just shove after buying in... over and over, in the hopes of building a big stack to play with.

I don't think I could play live if there was a cap of $100 like that. That would drive me insane I think. That should be very positive thing for Florida gaming if it passes. Keep us updated.
