Guess I had no chance from the start given everything that has happened to me on FT last couple of days.

TT loses to Q9 and my set gets sucked out on the river by the FD. At least it was a quick exit

I went out fast too after JJ crippled my 88 after that I didn't much stand a chance to come back... Tried, didn't work. Oh well. Wasn't really into it today so no skin off my back. Just not in the mood to play.

Oh you changed the name hollygirl? I thought it was a new player... I will need to fix the stats.

Very nice. 2 PTOTW's, 2 victories. Not being cocky since I'm sure it has happened many times before. And I feel I deserved them, played very solidly, no major hiccups.

Man, a guy who sat out EVERY hand made it to 4th.

Yeah, it has happened before. With a couple different people on here. Still it is a hard thing to do. You played well and you kept getting the hands you needed when you needed them. Hard to overcome that combination.

I, on the other hand, rand into quads early and got tilted... so I continue my streak of non-cashes.

Should someone who was "sitting out" get any points for your standings? It seems wrong for someone to get 4th place credit for nothing, while 8 other players played hard and competed and get less.

I am not faulting you at all on your methodology, just think that may be something to consider. And yes, I know this ranking is just for fun. It was just a thought.

We've had a bunch of debate on this. And I am still up in the air about it. But it can be hard for me to be certain if someone sat out the entire time or not. Especially if we're playing two tables and I don't have a hand history.

On top of that, sitting out is basically equivalent to a player who decides to fold every hand. A bad strategy but one all the same. If someone played and never got a hand... and decided to fold them all because they aren't worth playing. They would deserve the points for whatever spot they managed to finish while being that card-dead.

Those who sit out, don't do well in the rankings. The player today actually got more points than those have been averaging in the past because we had a really quick tournament today. Lots of big hands running into other big hands and people getting knocked out before they really needed to. I am still open to changing it in the future and have the hand histories saved if I decide to.

I think the sitters being in there point wise is okay. I don't think sitters being in there is okay though. I still think registration should be allowed a few hours before... there is the grace period too if you are running a few minutes late. It would just make the tournies flow so much better. But oh well, it's free and I appreciate rakeback putting it on.

Great game again... Unfortunately I had spent the day celebrating a victory for my local football side so a completely drunk today!!!

Just to pick up on a point from during the tourny and a debate with Dew...

You entered a pot (granted SB V's BB so u had pos) but the pot left an SPR of 2.5 and you called the raise with 65off. Irrespective of position 65 off is NEVER going to be a +EV call with a resulting SPR of 2.5 heads up!!

OK I flopped a set and you had flopped a str8 + redraw to a small flush (nice hand) but I am never folding a set with 2.5 and Luckily I hit the boat to win.

IMO it was an awful pre flop call on your part and I am surprised you chose to defend it on the basis that you had pos. 65 needs a much bigger stack to pot ratio to be profitable over the long term.

Incidentally I played out thye rest of the tourney badly....But I drank a bottle of merlot during the prceedings

Sorry, sometimes I play poker without regards to the two cards in front of me. Inflating a pot that large out of position with 99 HU against a relatively tight player feels like such a great play. That one BB out there was totally worth a 4x raise pre-flop. I had a redraw to a straight flush as well. I also didn't realize saying "nice catch" at the end warranted a berating of the player who said "nice catch," but I've been wrong about a lot today apparently.

I think "nice catch" is fairly derogatory. It is basically the same as "lucky catch". Or maybe not

Well, it wasn't intended to be derogatory. If it were intended to be derogatory, it would have been "Nice !@#$ing catch" or "Nice catch donk!" or some other form of "!@#$" We were 65% vs 35%, it was standard that top set is getting it all in there (for the most part), and had the odds to do so, but did still in fact need help to improve requiring a "catch" of some kind.
