    Default The 7-2 tables.

I played a hundred hands or so of 2NL 6-max on a 7-2 table tonight. It was pretty decent. I never got the 7-2 jackpot but I never got dealt 7-2 either. So that's understandable. The play was pretty loose. So many people were afraid of losing the 2xBB by being bluffed with 7-2 that they called down really light. I found that alone was worth being on the table. Three different times, someone was able to get the jackpot. So I lost 6xBB that way. I still left up 192xBB in 119 hands. So, I guess I can accept the 6xBB hit along the way.

    Hero ($4.20 in chips)
    SB ($2.52 in chips)
    BB ($1.87 in chips)
    UTG ($1.49 in chips)

    Pre Flop:
    ($0.03) Hero is BTN with 5 J
UTG raises to $0.04, 2 folds, BB calls $0.02

    Flop: ($0.09) T 2 K -- (2 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $0.09, BB calls $0.09

    Turn: ($0.27) T 2 K 6 -- (2 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $0.27, BB calls $0.27

    River: ($0.81) T 2 K 6 3 -- (2 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $0.81, BB calls $0.81

    Showdown: ($2.43)
UTG shows 7 2 (One pair, twos)
BB shows T 4 (One pair, tens)

    BB wins $2.31 (Rake: $0.12)

    -------------

Just an example of how crazy people will get trying to win the $0.12 jackpot (really $0.16 but $0.04 of it is yours). He lost $1.21 trying to get that $0.12. Meanwhile, the other player calls down with 2nd pair, no kicker, because they don't want to risk being bluffed and losing the $0.04 if the other person had 7-2.

That's right... a 121.5xBB pot... played with 7-2o against T-4s. Both with single pairs. I just can't believe it. And then the player with 7-2 went ape in the chat because he lost. That was probably the best part. He was berating the other player for their bad play.

Needless to say, winning with 7-2 is not where the money is at these games. It's value-betting the hell out of the players who will call with any piece in order to not be bluffed with 7-2.

all these games are is a way of enerating more and more rake for cereus. they are very loose, ive played on 1 of the $50nl tables and the ave pot was nearly 3 times bigger lol. i recommend staying off them if u r a cash grinder

Why?!? If you can't handle the loose play, you should probably be playing lower stakes. Loose play makes it so much easier to make money. It just requires a little more patience. If the pot sizes are 3x larger, when you have a big hand, you'll get paid off way better. I would gladly welcome larger pot sizes at the tables I play.

The average pot size here was over 31xBB for the entire session.

Total of all pots played was $75.10 / 119 hands ~ $0.63/hand. That is definitely larger than the average pot at 2NL.

That is one reason I decided to try one of these tables instead of a normal table. I figured that with big pots, like that, I could make a killing if I just played right. I expected some increased variance as people seemed to be playing crazy... but I also expected that I could be patient and still win a big pot when I finally got a big hand.

I really wonder if you could have a lot higher EV playing these tables without ever trying to win with 72. If I had money in any of the sites that have 72 tables, I'd play some just to see. I think the looser play would make these tables juicey enough you wouldn't have to ever bluff with 72.

I play the 7-2 on UB all the time, its amazing how loose the play is although I admit I tend to be the guy calling down with 2nd or 3rd pair because there is a 7 or a 2 on the board and the villian has been playing loose. Of course the best part is when they get upset their bluff didn't work but then again everything is funnier when your holding thier stack
