Default 2NL: Ran into a Royal Flush tonight.

This hand was all-in pre-flop. He's been 3-bet shoving a lot of weird garbage. I felt confident that AQo was ahead of most of his shoving range. He turns over AQh, which is near the top of his range, but that isn't too bad. The flop was pretty ugly and I was hoping for no more hearts. The turn was just cruel.

Anyway, it wasn't too bad because he was a half-stack anyway.

Then two hands later... this happens.

Edit: He was the one who shoved. He led that entire hand actually. The other player just waited for him to shove off his money.

He doesn't improve and he's broke. He just sat there in shock until he was booted from the table. He hits a Royal and then loses all the profits and his original money two hands later. Poker is a mean little game sometimes.

I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

Who would not have shoved with JJ?

After he merely flat calls... what range are you putting him on, and what range do you expect to get called with if you shove? The only thing you can hope is going to call your JJ shove is A7, A9, TT or 89...maybe AK. Everything else has you beat. At the micros, there are probably a few other hands that are calling too, but depending on villain and your read of villain, he is either strong or drawing... of which the turn offers a completed draw. It's obviously player dependent, but I can find several reasons not to be shoving JJ here. There also isn't any harm in trying to get to showdown cheaply here either, as you do have obvious showdown value with JJ.

i had my first royal flush ever yesterday on the BBB private freeroll.
i dont have any proof because i cant save "last hand" images but im not a liar.
anyway, i had AQ, with the A of clubs. the flop came JQK all clubs.
some guy had 10 9 and raised all in.
since i had A of clubs i called and the turn came the magical 10 of clubs. the funny thing is he had the 9 of clubs, giving him the lower end.
    an extremly satisfying hand.
Ogres and donks beware... i have a pitchfork!!!
    Econ-wanna play house with me???
