    Default Best settings for multitabling

So I finally have a decent sized monitor but still cant get more than 4 tables up without overlapping. I've gone through all the resolutions but it remains the same. This is on xp. Any difference on vista? Is there something I've missed on xp? I do feel I could comfortably see 12 tables without overlap but I'm just not allowed Any clues anyone?

No matter how large or small the monitor is, a lot depends on resolution as to how many you can fit. I've read that (for FTP) if you have 1920x1200 resolution, you can fit 6 tables on the screen with no overlap if you make them about 20% smaller than what the default size is.

I've only been able to get 4 without any overlap at all, but that's also only on a 17" 1280x1024. I feel like you should be able to get easily 6 on a 1920x1200, but as I haven't been able to really test that out, I can't say for sure.

The smallest resolution for a FTP table is something like 480x360. So in terms of resolution, With a 1920x1200, you could theoretically fit 4 tables x 3 tables without overlap on the smallest setting, but those tables are going to be crazy small. I think the default table size in terms of pixels sits somewhere near 800x580, so whatever resolution you have, you should be able to figure out a good estimate to how many tables you can fit based purely on the pixel measurements.

I have a 18.5" and fit 2.5 tables on my monitor.
It's the width , not the hight , that makes a difs.
You must email FT support. They can change the table sizes 4 you, to fit more.

It's also all about the resolution and not the size. You can have the largest lcd monitor in the world, but if it only runs in 800x600 max I'll always be able to fit more tables on my 15.4" 1280x800 lcd laptop monitor.

It sounds like you've answered my question in the other thread. That resolution doesnt exist here, the lowest being 1360x768.

Thanks, I'm gonna try this. Do you know this from experience or is it something you've heard/read?

Is that because of the monitor or do you know? If the monitor has the highest resolution as 1360x768, then there isn't anything you can do unless full tilt can make the tables smaller for you. If the monitor is capable of higher resolutions than that, it could be your graphics card. Some older graphics cards do not support the higher resolutions. If you have a newer card though, it more than likely does, but it's still worth checking out.

I had a severe winrate reduction when I tried to play with cascaded tables. It pretty much tilted me. I HATED cascaded tables. For the people in the world who do not like cascaded tables, this is never a solution.

To be honest I'm crap at these sort of things. It's actually a tv which facilitates PC http://www.directtvs.co.uk/Hanspree_...G/version.asp# Here it shows the resolution spec as '1366x768 Screen Resolution' so I guess I'm stuck with it. At least I can play from a distance (I'm trying hard to console myself here )

If that's the specified screen resolution, that's as high as it's going to go. If you end up needing another T.V. though, you can just switch that one out and get a higher resolution monitor

Let us know how e-mailing full tilt goes. It'd be nice to know there was something you could do to make the tables smaller for the larger-sized lower-resolution monitors.

Cascading tilts me more than every hand I've lost in my entire life.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

Yeah, that's the e-mail I always use. It tends to take 2-3 days for responses generally.

Thanks for letting us know how it goes. If you get solid results, I might have to do that too.

You can practice cascading though until you get used to it. I thought I would have a problem with it, I had always tiled 6 tables. However, I decided I wanted to try and allow myself to play more tables at once and knew the only way I could do this was by cascading. I played play money for a day or so just cadcading 8-10 tables just to try and get myself used to how it works etc...It's really not that much different at all

Ok, I think you've misunderstood the point of the original question. You can play 8 tables without having to e-mail FTP, but the OP is having questions regarding monitor size/resolution etc. I e-mailed FTP so I could start playing 9 tables, they extended it to 16 for me, but this doesn't mean that 16 will magically work on my monitor just because FTP enabled my account to play up to 16 tables. At no point did full tilt make the tables smaller for me or anything else, just purely allowed me to play up to 16 instead of having it restricted to 8.

Just to confirm there is no software to make tables smaller.

I didn't think there would be.
