The type of strategy you need for this type of a tournament falls into the category of MTT. I'd highly reccomend reading Harrington on Holdem Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.

I did a search for "Harrington on Holdem" on google and found some very interesting links

Thank you for the advice Mickey. i knew somethings about sitngos but with this book and patience in the tables i started to have much better results. I play around 5 tournments per day and i the last 3 days i have a 1st place, 3rd place and 5 times in the prizes places.

I thought you would like to know, and one more time thank you for the advice.

I'm glad to hear it. Don't EVER stop reading books about poker. If Sit-N-Go games are your fancy, I'd consider reading Sit-N-Go Strategy by Collin Moshman and Kill Everyone. by Lee Nelsen, et. al.

    Keep up the good work!

The moshman book is killer on SNGs.

In the end however, play the strategy that makes you the most comfortable.

Collin (Moshman)'s book (Sit-N-Go Strategy) is the veritable tits for SNGs, but his content is directed towards STT, and OP seems to enjoy the MTT variety.

I think that in the beginning of a Sit N go, you should wait it out and try to not get involved early on. In the beginning of a SNG, you will see alot of people get knocked out by very bad hands, so I would try to wait it out, unless you pick up a monster hand. You should also take notes on which players are good, or are donkish. That way if you play them again, you can get a good feel for how they play.

If you play the micro SNGs, you will see alot of inexperienced players. You should take advantage of the beginners and try to occasionally bluff at the pots. Just don't do it too often, incase they pick up on it.

Also, try to steal a couple of pots when you get near the bubble. Most people will really tighten up during the bubble. This is a great time to maybe steal a couple pots a build your way up to a healthy chip stack, and put you in a great spot to maybe win your SNG.

I hope that this info will help you in your SNG adventures. Best of luck to you, and go win some SNG'S

Very tight at the beginning, study the betting patterns of your opponents, try to build up your stack through the middle game, and become very agressive when the table is down to 4 ó 5 players. and of course gl

i stoped playing in the fulltilt sitngos and started this week with pokerstars. iam liking more in pokerstars because its turbo and its easier and faster to get into the final tables.
the sitngo that i play its micro 2 bucks 180 players, and i dont enter in the action before its the last 80, and of course if i have a good hand (AA AK AQ KK or QQ) i push.
in the last 30 i start to play more agressive because of the stack too, its easier to make people fold. the good thing in poker stars is that any poket hand with an ace its a very good hand in the last 30, cause most of people call like crazy with anything. other thing is that some hands that i thought that they were pretty good in the last stages are really bad in the turbo sitngo (kq kj Qj), i saw lot of people get knocked with anything with ace agaisnt this kind of hands that i thought they are good for the last stages.
in five days i have 642 points sitngo, i dont know if its good, ill wait until the next week to compare.
iam thinking to pass to the 3 dolars tournment, but iam not sure if its too early.

anyway to all people that helped me with this sitngo question thank you one more time.

That looks a lot like this:

As a matter of fact, it's EXACTLY COPY AND PASTED from there. Why would you plagiarize and make it sound like you know what you're talking about? That's not cool around here...
I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

The 90 Seat knockouts on Full Tilt are excellent games for building your bankroll and a fairly basic strategy should see you through.

Relatively tight early on, however small pairs (for sets) are ideal hands if you can see a flop for 5% of your stack as are Suited connectors, the latter should be played multi way and with reasonable position.

Later stages (as with all SNG play) you need a fundamental understanding of Push fold strategy and SnG wizard is a good investment for developing this aspect of your game.

You also need to have a good 3 bet steal strategy against regular LP raisers etc.

It is good to focus on a particular tourney or sng, lots of same players so you can take notes or just remember what there style is.
I didnt prefer to play $2 180 entr.
I am more an 9 seated turbo player with the first 3 places get same price pay out structure.
I never read a book about poker or something at all.
I am a person who wants to create his own style.
The most important thing you can do to keep getting better is analize your hands!
If you see you made the wrong move, even if you won the hand you can learn so much from it.
Everytime I lose because of a bad beat or If I had a hard decission to call an all in and eventually call and got 50 % preflop but lose the hand Im still satiscfied cause I KNOW that it doesnt matter that I lose the hand, It matters that I played it right.

I wish you good luck on the tables
