Default Sattelite situation (28th/33, 30 qualify)

I'm in 28th position out of 33 remaining and 30 qualify.

Blinds are 1000/2000 (no antes) for the next 8+ minutes. I have 5000+ chips so can afford one full orbit on my 8 man table without having to play a hand. 29th position is on same table as me with 3000+ chips but is effectively ahead as he has just played his blinds and is sitting out. 30th to 32nd are all on 1000+ chips whilst 33rd appears doomed with just 340 chips. 2 of these are sat together on another table and if either of them manage to chip up with their blinds i'm in trouble.

    Now for 2 hands.

UTG I pick up TT. Autofold or play? I can easily get called by BB as he a has huge stack. So do a few others.

Obviously I folded. Blinds pass me and down to my last 2000+ and we're down to 32 remaining with the 2 on same table blinds about to play, if one survives I need to win a hand, luckily a few limp so at least they're not heads up. I'm button with 99, 2 limpers before me. I wait as long as possible for a result on the other table before making a decision but not enough time. What do ya do?

Should I have played the TT hand?

Milk fold any two cards until you make the money.

i qualified for a satellite once with 26 chips left.
Poker is a microcosm of all we admire and disdain about capitalism and democracy. Poker can be rough-hewn or polished, warm or cold, charitable and caring, or hard and impersonal, fickle and elusive, but ultimately poker is fair, and right, and just.

If you're not playing the TT hand (which I agree with) you're def. not playing the 99 hand. Not only does it suck just as much but you have two people who have already expressed interest in the hand by limping into the pot.

You've made it through the blinds. You have a few hands to wait it out. It's mostly out of your hands at this point and is down to getting lucky and having other people go busto first.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

Cheers for replies. As it was I did fold, during the hand the tables closed and I made it in 30th (according to end results anyway). Guess I would've been a bit annoyed had I not made it but given the responses here at least folding both hands was the correct decision.
