relax....u certainly weren't getting pot odds and had to based on the fact that I only raised ONCE prior to this that I at least had a decent pkt pair, so, plz help me understand how you can make such a ridiculous call for half of your chip stack with K 10 off suit? Plz don't say "It's a freeroll so what do you expect" because that is a cop out in my opinion. Just looking to understand because right now all you did was justify a statement I have made before that online poker is becoming a joke because of bs like this.

You were short, you were playing a lot of hands and against any underpair, AQ, AJ, A9- he had odds... why not? Was it the right play, no... but Poker=gambling, the worst hand wins a significant % of the time (in this case almost 3/10 times) and it was free. At least you didn't lose a buy-in on this. It's part of poker and if you can't handle it, you should take a break until you are in the mindset to handle it. I had crap like this happen to me last night and lost a ton of money because of stupid 20-30% suckouts happening constantly. Short term variance sucks, but things balance out long term. You WANT situations like this to happen because you'll profit long term. I see much worse play when I play live in a casino than I see when I play online. I see more tilt online, but the play is generally better online than live. If you think online is a joke because of bad play, go play $200nl live.

I do understand that I was short stack and, had there been a bigger raise by relax prior to it getting to me, I would have completely understood the call. It isn't that I can't handle the loss it is very frustrating when u r trying to start a bankroll and have an opportunity with a small tourney such as this and u finally get a decent pkt pair only to have this happen more times than I can count. Also, I don't think that I played that many hands because I folded many hands pre flop because they were crappy cards, lol. I do appreciate the input, though, and will continue to try and survive these beats.

Well, granted it was only over 16 hands, but you were running 44/6 (you limped 44% of the time and raised 6% of the time) while I was playing in the tournament which is a really loose/weak style. If you tightened up a bunch after I busted out early then that's different, but while I was playing, you were limping into way too many pots to be considered tight.

I know this wasn't me making the call but I might have. Probably not with K-T but still, I've made some really funky calls in the past.

As another point, in these freerolls, I often try out different things and will make some pretty weird moves and calls. Since I often see these players again and again, it might benefit me to make a loose call when they first start playing... so that I will know in future tournaments what their range might be when making a play. I'm more likely to do this if I know the other person is active on the forums and thus more likely to be in many tournaments in the future.

Unlike Dew, I don't have tracking software so I need to go by my history with everyone. It isn't costing me anything to lose one of these tournaments. I had fun playing it. So I can make calls or moves that I otherwise might not, because it's a freeroll for me. I know you hate the saying but the move itself is a freeroll. If the move works, great. If it doesn't... I'm really not out anything but my time.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

To me, it really sounds like you can't handle the loss. All you can do is fistpump when you see the hands and be happy about getting it in that good.

And I really wish I would turn my chat back on for these tourneys. It looks like I missed out on some good stuff. Chat is always -EV though.
