Default Need a new poker room

    All,

After playing exclusively at Full Tilt, I am looking to start playing elsewhere. I know that PokerStars does not have rakeback and lots of other sites don't welcome US players.

I would welcome any feedback/suggestions/opinions about poker sites available to US players. I mostly play mid/high stakes heads up matches. Any responses would be appreciated.

    Thanks

For the sites that are available to US players here on RB.com here are my opinions/thoughts...

Doyle's Room- Terrible interface. High stakes action seems to be really lacking. Even mid-ranged HU games take a while to get registered for (and by mid... anything $20+), but even if that were tolerable, the lack of any decent interface is enough to consider the site a terrible experience. Cashouts are a complete pain in the arse too. They also charge quite a bit for cashouts... I think the transfer to bank method is like 3%. Then I don't think I could even get a check unless it was courier which was $50 a cashout. And to top it off, their customer service is really annoying.

Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet- The interface is a step above Doyle's Room for sure. I don't know a lot about either site as I've only been able to stick around for a few weeks here and there. When it came to cashouts they charged so I eventually got frustrated and left shortly after, but this might be your best bet as they have more traffic than the others in mid/high HU matches.

Poker Nordica- Low traffic. Back when I played a bit there (when we were having PTOTW's there) it would take quite a while sometimes to get someone to register with me for even the $5 HU sng's... so I wouldn't imagine their mid-high is that fast. It seems like most of their traffic is on the cash tables. I thought Nordica was okay, but primarily for cash tables. Sng's and tournaments just seem to have really low volume. I did all my cashouts through PICClub which was a completely annoying. I think you could do checks through them too, but they charge if I remember correctly.

If I were you, I'd at least look at the volume I'm playing and see how the new 2010 programs at PokerStars would benefit me. I think when the rakes are close to equivalent, FTP with rakeback is generally better than PokerStars as far as bottom line dollar though, but if you are leaving FTP for sure, PS's program is definitely worth a look. After spending so much time at both sites, I just don't care much for the other ones.

If I were you I would try Doyle's Room. The 33% Rakeback is the most you can get from a site that allows US players. The Sng's are crazy soft, but the lack of traffic makes it hard to play a lot of them at the same time.

I've never had a problem cashing out from Doyle's Room/Cake Poker. I use Ewalletxpress and it doesn't cost you a cent to withdraw that way.

I play at Cake Poker, as well as Full Tilt. 33% rakeback, decent software, good cash games, but barely any sng traffic. I'm not sure about the high stakes HU sngs, but I really can't imagine any site will have more people willing to play that high than Full Tilt anyways.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

I would support Doyle room on this. Yes, you won't find a good interface,(not even close to poker stars) but you are then left with too few choices.
UB the scandal hit room, I am scared to even sign up to them.

if you put in any reasonable amount of volume I don't know how pokerstars isnt the best option. The VPP program is definitely as good as rakeback if you can hit maybe platinum star or higher and the player (and thus fish) pool is enormous.
