1)Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling?
    NOPE NEVER

2)Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?
NOPE ALTHOUGH UNEXPECTEDLY LONG TOURNAMENTS DID CAUSE A SLIGHT ISSUE BUT THAT WAS RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY.

    3)Did gambling affect your reputation?
    NOPE NEVER

4)Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?
BRIEFLY, BUT THAT WAS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD LOL

5)Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?
YEP WHEN I WAS OUT OF WORK DUE TO ILLNESS... AND IT KEPT US AFLOAT FOR 6 MONTHS LOL

6)Did gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?
NO ACTUALLY IT MADE ME A MORE FOCUSED AND PATIENT PERSON

7)After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
NO THAT'S HOW IDIOTS GO BROKE LOL

8)After a win did you have a strong urge to return and win more?
NOPE BUT I DID HAVE A STRONG URGE TO CASH OUT LOL

9)Did you often gamble until your last dollar was gone?
NOPE I KEPT A SET AMOUNT IN MY ONLINE ACCOUNT TO PLAY WITH. IF THAT ENDED UP BEING GONE THEN I JUST MOVED TO THE NEXT SITE THAT I HAD A STASH ON. I DON'T GENERALLY RE-DEPOSIT ON A SITE THAT'S GONE DRY FOR QUITE A WHILE, SINCE I HAVE OTHER SITES WITH A BALANCE. I PUT ASIDE ONLY WHAT I CAN AFFORD TO PLAY WITH - JUST AS OTHER PEOPLE PUT ASIDE MONEY TO GO OUT TO DINNER OR A MOVIE. SAME GOES WHEN I WANT TO PLAY LIVE. IF I HAVE IT TO SPARE, COOL, BUT IF NOT, I WAIT TO PLAY.

10)Did you ever borrow to finance your gambling?
NEVER - BUT FRIENDS HAVE STAKED ME ON SITES THAT I WASN'T ABLE TO DEPOSIT ON, BUT THAT WAS EITHER TO PLAY WITH THEM HEADS UP, OR TO PARTICIPATE IN CHARITY EVENTS.

11)Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?
    NEVER.

12)Were you reluctant to use "gambling money" for normal expenditures?
NOPE MY GAMBLING MONEY WAS FOR SPENDING LOL

13)Did gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself or your family?
NEVER. NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

14)Did you ever gamble longer than you had planned?
MEH, PROBABLY IN LONG MTTS WHEN I MADE IT REAL DEEP.

15)Have you ever gambled to escape worry or trouble?
IF I DO I ONLY DO FREEROLLS OR PLAY CHIPS SO AS NOT TO BE STUPID AND PLAY FOR REAL WHEN I'M NOT IN THE RIGHT MIND SET FOR IT.

16)Have you ever committed, or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling?
    LMAO HELL NO THAT'S RETARDED

17)Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?
    NOPE

18)Do arguments, disappointments or frustrations create within you an urge to gamble?
NOPE - JUST CREATES AN URGE TO EAT SWEET FOODS LOL

19)Did you ever have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours of gambling?
SURE WHY NOT? EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT WAYS OF CELEBRATING - I'D RATHER CELEBRATE AND HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE SOME MONEY RATHER THAN GET SHIT FACED IN A BAR SOMEWHERE AND SPEND IT ALL LMAO

20)Have you ever considered self destruction or suicide as a result of your gambling?
ABSOLUTELY NOT - AND I WOULD HOPE NONE OF MY FRIENDS HERE OR ELSEWHERE WOULD EITHER. IF SO, I WOULD ASK THAT YOU PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIVATELY SO WE CAN TALK.
I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

I've noticed if I don't play for awhile, I start itching like I have little bugs crawling all over me.

Oh wait, that's what happens when I need meth.

I don't want to go to the link, because I said yes to way too many.

Does it mean I am slightly rehabilitated if some of them are only occasionally, or used to be my past reactions?

How many "yes" answers before it's considered a problem?

    I'm guessing just one. Yikes.

Eek. Only 7 "yes" answers needed. I'm almost 100% after the first 5 and don't want to go any further.

Has anyone ever sought counseling? Like professional help (please avoid sarcastic answers, I'm trying to be serious).

"Yes" to 12 out of the 20. That's as serious as I can get.

#3 is pretty much a given YES where I live, and really it should be a given yes for everyone. That's an insanely horrible question. I live in the Bible Belt. Here, poker is often considered evil. Honestly think about it though, my "reputation" is affected no matter what I do. "Oh he's a solid poker player at the table" or "he's a crazy donk" or "he plays really tight" or "he is really loose," all of these opinions would have been formed by other poker players. Therefore, simply by playing, I've affected how other people around me view me thus affecting my reputation.

Some of those other questions are complete bull too. Like #14. Of course I've played longer than I planned. I never plan to win an MTT although I know it would take a long time, and it would be worth going all the way. In fact, I think actually planning to play that long all the time because you "plan"
on winning would be more of an issue. Sometimes when I go take a crap I take longer than I planned. Does this mean I'm addicted to crapping? I hate stupid stuff like this. These questions should definitely be written better than they are. It's really horribly written set of questions.

There are a few legitimate questions on there though. And saying "if you answer yes to 7 of these, you might have a problem." Well, what if I only answer yes to #20 and #16? I wouldn't have a problem according to this because I didn't answer yes to at least 7.

I also wish threads weren't constantly started that were just copy and paste. It's getting somewhat frustrating to constantly run into copy and paste threads. I mean, you didn't even use your own words to introduce the thread, it's literally a straight copy and paste with a reference link that you added at the bottom.

These questions are retarded. I answered yes to 4,7,10,12,14, so apparently I borderline have a problem, but I'm possibly the least addicted person to gambling in the world.

4: Yes, cos the game was soft, but I was playing slightly above my bankroll, ran badly and lost 20% of my roll.

7: Not an urge to return as such, just more inclined to keep playing if I'm having a losing session as I don't like having losing sessions.

10: Yeah, cos a mate had money on him and I didn't. Also to put some money on a site once as I didn't want to get pwned by the exchange rate.

    12: Yes, it's called a BANKROLL.

14: Yes, but at some point I've done most things longer than planned. If I planned to spend my entire life in a casino at the roulette wheel would that be fine though?

Agree entirely. Wouldn't mind seeing fewer inane threads and more actual poker discussion.

Where I lived playing cards for pennies / nickels / whatever was normal... and I lived in Alabama... so I guess it just depends on where in the Bible Belt and how many people you know or how many know your private life details as to whether or not it affects your reputation. The only reputation my mom and I had was "oh shit here they come" but that was between the family members we played with lmao

Lol, yeah I was just making a point that you have a "poker playing reputation" as well that just merely by playing you have affected your reputation. Heck, by not playing you affect your reputation. If you are visible by anyone, any action can affect your reputation. It's just a really dumb question. The last home game I played in got split into two tables so the "good players" could all be at one table with a higher buy-in than the rest of the players. It was still a profitable table for me, but I had to work so much harder at playing better than normal lol.

OMG im an compulsive gambler I better stop right now.
    Wait a second...
Poker is a microcosm of all we admire and disdain about capitalism and democracy. Poker can be rough-hewn or polished, warm or cold, charitable and caring, or hard and impersonal, fickle and elusive, but ultimately poker is fair, and right, and just.

I just remembered something in regards to #1. What if I played poker while I was in class? Technically I still went to class, but I did play while I was "taking notes on my laptop". Haha... I still think these questions are really funny.

Yeah I agree, but I don't think they expect people to be smart enough to break the questions down like that LOL It's almost as if they're saying "not only are you a gambling addict, but you're retarded too!" Maybe we should compile a list of random ridiculous questions and send it to them as a response to theirs with the title: "Gambling Therapists IQ Test" lmao

Sounds like a better idea to me than trying to use this test legitimately. Although question 16 and 20 are pretty legitimate, most of the rest aren't.

Sorry but tests like these are unbelievably stupid ... It reminds me of a test called "Do you suffer from an eating disorder?" and the first question was: Do you think you are too fat?

Someone who really suffers from an addiction can not find his diagnose by filling out these sort of tests.

And if is was a joke ... a bad one.

The OP was not making a joke. However, by many reacting to the idiocy of the questions, many joking posts resulted. No one here thinks addiction is funny - but the ignorance of those who claim to be experts on it is quite hilarious.
