Once you are caught up after reading this, it will make more sense.

UIGEA and safe port acts are the 2 main laws which regulates online poker in USA. Read the above website suggested and that should clear your thoughts.

Read an impressive blog at http://legalgamblingonline.blogspot....llegal-in.html
It says ”As such there are no federal regulations which prohibit it in America and online gambling is legal in America but at the same time every state has the authority to legalize or forbid it.”
Need to check my state laws now.

Then Sir can you please tell me whether or not it is illegal in my state California.
Still I would like to add that my friends have been playing online poker from the past many years irrespective of what yo say.

We all continue to play regardless of what anyone says... mainly because no matter how hard they try, the United States Government cannot try to pass law or claim over something which is not based on it's own soil. So the only thing they can do is regulate banking transactions to "block" US players from playing on certain poker sites... but many sites have figured out a way around that as well... so the Government, try as they might, just can't seem to make it stick... but they will keep trying, which is what makes a lot of US players nervous...

To support you , here is a piece of text by Patrick Dorinson, a spokesperson for Morongo :
“About one million Californians are playing poker offshore right now ” referencing the popularity of current online poker sites that serve American players.
The key is where you play(online) at and is the payment mode that you use secure enough?
