Default High stakes poker new season

I just saw the first episode of high stakes poker and man was there some action right away. Hellmuth went busto quickly lol. He had the K flush against Antonio's A flush and then Ivey finished him off with the K flush against his J flush. Man Ivey was catching some cards though he hit 2 sets, 2 pr, a flush... it was pretty sick plus he got that blond neanderthal looking dude to bluff him for over 50k when he hit a set of 6s. I thought Kara Scott was going to replace AJ in the booth but she is just doing commentary with the players.

I think this season will be good

I'll watch it later tonight hopefully. People usually get the vids up on YouTube really quickly.

It's on there now. I'm getting ready to watch.

Edit: I enjoyed it. I loved Dwan's comment during the "explain what you think of Hellmuth in 10 words or less" section. But it seems like it'll be a decent season.

I just finished watching it, and here are a couple of random thoughts :

    - The introduction with the female voice was useless. I mean it's already season 6, no need to make some recap. And the following clip had a little too much disco flavour in it.
    - I hate Kara Scott, not that I liked A.J. Benza better anyway. Gabe should be doing this alone !
    - Negreanu is still a fish in this field.
    - Who is this Hoivold ??
    - I lol'd @ Helmuth saying Ivey had been so lucky against him. He just can't admit Ivey played it better than him.
    - The show should be renamed The Ivey & Dwan show lol They just rocked that session.

It wasn't the greatest episode from HSP. I'd say it was just so-so actually. Well season 5 put the standards to a higher level didn't it ? Hopefully we'll see more interesting episodes with more interesting characters (throw Hoivold and Minieri out !).

Minieri needs to stay. Ivey, Durrrr, Antonius, Laak, Esfandiari, Minieri, Hellmuth, Gold, and Phillips would be my dream lineup. I laughed out loud when I saw Phillips in the previews. There is no way he can afford losing 100k+. And he sucks. Should be a sick season.

Well, Minieri is essentially known from his deep tournament runs. I don't really like him as a player and he's proved nothing compared to the other players at the table. He quieted down after the first hand when "Minieri meets Durrrr" and show no sign of being willing to try again soon.

I like when there's action and it's sad the well-known for the action they give out at the tables like Hansen or Esfandiari were too timid on this episode.

It's the first episode of the season. Things might open up more as time goes on... and also, I don't recall seeing Esfandiari going crazy anytime Durrrr has been at the table.

I agree with you, it's only the first episode. But with the heating up on season 4 and 5, I would have expected a little more action. I'll definitely wait to see more on the following episodes.

Esfandiari mostly plays tight on HSP, but he was involved in some action hands on previous seasons that didn't feature Dwan in it.

I'm pretty sure he's known for being one of the first people to buy a car with his points on PokerStars and for being the chip leader in the main event for a short while. I've never heard of any tourney success he's had. I always thought people knew him for being a high roller on Stars back in the day.

Well, if that's not a tournament "success"...

About him buying a car on Stars only with points is impressive in itself but compared to the titles and bracelets distributed around the table, it weighs nothing.

I would like to see Andy Beal play in high stakes poker but he only likes to play heads up limit holdem
