Well I finally saw the final table of the WSOPE main event. Of course I was rooting for no one else but Negreanu. Negreanu started as the shortstack and quickly escaladed to the chip lead. One by one they fell Akenhead one of final table finishers of the 2009 ME in Las Vegas falling 9th, Hawrilenko went 8th, Saout another final table finisher lasted till 7th, Chris Bjorin ended up in 6th, Markus Ristola out in 5th, Mercier quickly lost the chip lead to Negreanu and went out in 4th, the local Bansi finished 3rd. Finally they were heads-up Negrean and Barry Shulman. It was a very good heads-up Negreanu almost had the bracelet, but Shulman was fighting back. What pissed me off and what probably pissed off Negreanu too is that he could've won. I bet Negreanu will never forget that hand where Shulman pushed all-in on the turn with nothing. Negreanu was holding pocket 4's, but played it safe and folded. Later on some hands Negreanu called Shulman's push with A-J, but Shulman was holding the rockets. Flop comes one Jack.Turn hits another
Jack. Negreanu was already feeling the bracelet in his wrist, but a nightmarish Ace came on the river to give Shulman a better full house. Yes sick one outer. The match was great, but the last hand had to come when Negreanu pushed with pocket 4's and Shulman called with pocket 10's. Shulman flopped a 3rd 10 and that was it. It was over. My hero came out in 2nd and Shulman took the title, but I know that Negreanu is a great player and there is always next year. So what were your opinions on the final table? Who were you rooting for?
