    Default pocket rockets

every time i get AA i get happy n excited as does probably everyone else. but alot of the times pocket aces end up costing me or i just take the blinds.... i dont usually rake any big ones with this whopper hand. i usually come in too aggressive and everyone folds if not that ill limp to try to keep people in and build the pot and then some tool catches nuts with garbage and does work on my primo hand... whats the best thing to do with it?

Remind yourself that AA is just a one pair hand unless you improve. Don't go broke with it in a cash game. Be happy to win a small or medium sized pot with it. Be aware that, once you start playing a big pot with AA, you're probably behind.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

i always say AA is just another hand it should be 1 of the hands you play with respect tho cause the rest of the tables watching your everymove if they can get a tell off how you played those AA you could be in big trouble the next time ya get KK or QQ question have ya ever folded AA on the river?

I wud play it like an 88/AK/AQ with the same bet, timing, body movement and hopefully everything else.. and if some one shows interest, I'll take my time as if I'm getting into a race and then jam it up hoping he has a good hand and aggressive tendencies.

If I only pick up the blinds, so be it. Better to win a small pot than loss a big one. I don't like limping, I want to isolate one or two person pre flop as it's hard to play with too many ppl post flop.

I think it is good to be aggressive with aces but you can also trap people after the flop with them. I like having aces with a flop like K22 rainbow. If you lead out and they call you they prob have a king and you can check raise on the turn or continue firing depending on the player. If someone has a 2 in this spot I am just going to give them a lot of money. In situations like this I sometimes like to make slight overbets of the pot. It will build the pot for a large river bet and it won't blow them out of the water.

That is the reason every poker book I've ever read says AA and KK will win small pots and win big ones. Better hands are pp 55-99 (easier to fold if missed flop) and suited connectors, 1-gappers, etc.

It's really not that hard to lay down overpairs. The reason books say that is to help readers realize what they need to get better at (telling them what they suck at). "Don't commit so much with marginal holdings post flop" is the moral of the story.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.
