As much as I wish I could just win every hand, I don't think it works that way. I guess if I'm going to fold, it's better to fold earlier rather than later. The earlier I fold the less of my money is in the pot and the less of my money another player ends up with.

Sometimes Folding at the right time can be so hard. In Texas Hold em it is hard not to stay in for the flop even if you have two horrible hold cards. With those three cards I always think there is a chance it can help out my hand. However, I have to remember that they might help someone else's hold cards a lot better.

Yes, I see where you are coming from, I usually wait around for the flop also while playing Texas Hold'em. I usually get into situations where I fold before it and it turns out my hand would have worked out for me if I have not folded.

When to fold has always been the magic question in poker. I'm a firm believer in playing the cards in your hand. You can't rely on the flop, because everyone around is counting on those cards as well.

I don't like to fold unless I don't see a chance that I can make it work. I can usually tell with the first few cards whether I can do anything with them. I much rather to fold early if the hand looks really bad.

Pre-flop folding usually depends on the stakes I am playing. If they are low, I will go ahead and see the flop...because every hand is a good hand before the flop...

Yes, if it's low stakes and I have high stacks then I'll see the flop. Or play a few bets around. It's when the stakes start climbing that I'm getting out early. Don't want to just give away my money.

Here is something to think about. A professional player once told me that when they are in the small blind if they don't have the goods they don't call "just because it is half price". They said the reason was that the extra "half" if added up during the games that you threw away could make the difference between getting to the final table or being able to match that bet on a cash table. Makes sense to me.

When you think of it that way it certainly does make sense. I don't have too much of a problem in folding for the same reason as previously stated, that the less I put in the pots the less I lose. I find it funny when people say "I knew I lost but I just had to see it" or "I'm pot committed so I have to call". That is the stupidest thing in the world to think. Always remember "a chip and a chair". No one ever "HAS TO CALL", folding has it's merits in that you can always make a comeback. I have done so many times from 150 chips to final table in tournaments.

I hate folding and I try to ride in the hand as far as I can for as little money as possible but mid way through if I dont feel right about it I do jump out.
