I let mine pile up. Every point you spend costs you some rakeback. I forgot the numbers, but every item you buy is like buying it at 27% it's original value. So it's a really good deal if you actually need/want the item, but it is costing you straight cash basically.
Think for yourself. Question authority.
1 ftp loses you $0.005 in Gross rake. So if you were to buy something that costs 2,000 ftp's (usually the item would have around the value of $10), you will lose $10 of your gross rake. This equates to losing $2.70 of what you would have received in a rakeback payment.
So buying an ipod or something similar worth $200 will cost you $54. Like Travz said, it's a good deal if you actually want the item, but it does take away from the cash you would have had in your account.
Thanks a lot for explaining that for me......Does the same apply if I use the points to enter tourneys and so forth?
Just a thought......using the example of the $200 I pod for $54 nett cost, could maybe ebay the player for $100 ? Does anyone use their points in this way?
ok so if i were to buy a 1.1m $5000 bonus the deduction from rakeback would be $1350 for a realized gain of $3650?
how do deductions work for iron man medals?
I think you're losing a lot of profits selling it on ebay. Might as well go for tournament tickets and bonuses imo.
selling on ebay is almost guaranteed to be one of the worst ways to spend your FTPs. Spending Iron man medals works in the same way as FTPs, there is a 27% loss of rakeback. For all non-cash and non-tourney ticket items I believe they equate the value of 1 iron man medal to $.20 ie spending 1000 medals will cause you to lose $54 in rakeback.
So what if you use points on a tourney does that take away rakeback?
A little trick I use when trying to figure out FTPs policy regarding a bonus or rakeback is to ask "What method would lead to the hardest raping of the players?" 10 times out of 10 you can get your answer this way.
