hey guys some players drink and play poker, for my personal opinion its not a good idea doing these, you really get stupid doing this? what do you think? good luck guys [URL REMOVED]

Many inexperienced players believe that poker online is very different from real poker, they are partly right, but the difference is not quite the criteria on which people think. Popular opinion, which is much more difficult to read your opponent in the internet, because you can not see. Few, however, realizes that to understand the opponent is not necessarily to see his face, is influenced by many other factors. "Read" an opponent is very difficult, not all players make it possible to understand them. Mo st relevant information comes from the way an opponent bets, position at the table and monitor player (see the article Online Tells). [URL REMOVED]

The advantages of the traditional offline poker

The biggest advantage of playing a real poker in that it is a social game. You can meet with his opponents face to face, it is much more fun than sitting staring at a computer. You are talking with their rivals, meet new people. It's easier to stay focused on the opponent when they are to you. Just an opportunity to bite an opponent, on the basis of his gestures, you can see if he is nervous or upset because of his loss. It is easier to remember the habits of opponents, their style of play, how they play certain cards. Playing in a real casino, an experienced player immediately notice the play of his opponent.

In general, the game will be more realistic when the chips in front of you and hands you hold the cards. Even if you're an experienced player in the Internet, you most likely will be nervous, playing the first few times in real poker.

I actually think drinking and playing is a great idea live against poor competition. I've done this. People think you're totally gone (and you are) when in reality you know what you're doing. You can give off fake tells and they'll believe it.

Scotty Nguyen perfected this play. I remember in the $50k WSOP 2008 HORSE event, during Limit Holdem Scotty was in position w/ a nut hand on the river, and right before his opponent was about to act, he announced "ace high," making villain think that Scotty thought they were at showdown. Villain bluffed and Scotty got an extra bet in. There were others.

I can get hammed live and still think pretty much the same as when I'm sober. I just might knock over some more things on accident. Getting drunk online is a terrible idea since you have your whole bankroll at your disposal.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

I recall the pros on TV talking about a couple of characters who had the mindset that mad them tight losers sober, but who became bold and more effective drunk. Got to be tough for a full time pro, sacrificing your health for your profession, kinda like a prize fighter.
