and a other question: When a tournament starts, i play mostly "right" and collect same chips, but sometimes, if i have a lot chips, my playing chances. That means, i play like a chicken, dont call when i should and/or i play my wining hands to weak.... |

First of all, work on your tournament mentality. Is your aim to win or grind it to the money?. If your aim is to win then why be scared, better to go out early than get blinded out 2-3-4 hours later. Early stages always maximise the pot with your strong hands, if you get beat then unlucky, move on. Once you've built up a stack tighten up, even if it means not playing a hand for the next hour. Open up a cash table so you dont get bored. Wait for the blinds to increase and then start stealing them, this can be far more profitable than risking your tourney on pocket jacks. Observe your opponents and make notes, it doesnt sound exciting but it kills time and can be more than useful next time. Enough from me for now, good luck! |

| I used to have the same problem in the real long tourneys...at a casino I can sit for 14 hours easy and not have any problem, but for some reason it was more difficult to keep focused on the computer and I couldn't figure out why. Some say it's because the brightness of the screen has some unseen affect on the mind which triggers sleepiness and even headaches....I dunno....it makes sense I suppose. My biggest problem was my chair. Believe it or not, an uncomfortable chair caused me all sorts of grief, and made me less focused on the games I was playing for a long duration. The distraction of aches and pains and discomfort broke my concentration after only an hour or so. So, I replaced my chair with a much more comfortable one, and now sitting for a long period doesn't seem to affect me anymore. ![]() I know this is probably not helpful to you, but just saying there can be all sorts of different reasons as to why you're not able to keep your concentration while playing online. Don't automatically assume the problem is with you...it could be something in your environment. ![]() Best wishes!

Play in smaller MTTs if the time frame is too long for your concentration. If you want to continue with the big tourneys, maybe you could sit out 5 minutes prior to one of ther breaks to give yourself some recharging time for the final tables. Personally I try not to miss a single hand, but if it means you will have a better mind set at the end of the tourney, give it a try. Maybe adding a second table will keep your mind sharp. Playing more than one table will keep you active if boredom is the reason for mind wandering. You either need more energy or more activities to keep your mind sharp, decide which works best for you. If you are getting deep into many tournements, you are doing something right. Keep grinding. Later, ![]() ![]() |

| Thx lady and vito @lady: You are right with the chair, one time i was by my brother and had have to play a tournament at PS, his chair was horrible, after 1 hour i couldnt feel my .ss ....... @vito: Yes, you right, i now play some small tournaments with the big ones...... Today i had have played the "Sunday 100 Grand" at PS and my concentration was fine, only my luck not, finished 982 out of 25000.....had QQ in BB and the Button took my all-in with A 10off.....thats poker, maybe next time.... gl to both of you |
| ||||
| Neimals...I wish you the best 982 out of a field of 25000 is not too bad at all...I'd venture to say you've definitely got what it takes to make it all the way...just gotta manage your way through the labyrinth of bad luck, which we all do. ![]() Best of luck! Oh, and another thought if you haven't tried it yet, you could try playing cheaper satellites to win entry into the larger tournaments, so you're not chancing too much of your bankroll at a time. If you're good enough to beat 24000+ players as above, then you should have no trouble in a shorter SNG satellite ![]()

| No dear, I mean, I have played in order to pay bills in the past, but only for a few months. I would never consider myself a "pro." My local friends just gave me this nick name because I'm a little southern lady who just happens to always whip their butts in poker LOL ![]()
