Default Do anybody organize tournaments for profit?

I have heard of people allowing people to play poker out their house and charging a entry fee. Or, going to other people house and organizing tournaments. Do anybody do this for extra money?

In my home country it would be illegal to make a profit of hosting a poker game. Although we have been collecting some rake in our pub tournaments and saving it up towards a christmas tournament prize pool.

Yes, it probably illegal here, too. That sound like a nice prize and people love getting money for christmas.

Yes it is illegal here is as well but people do it all the time. Although it isn't as risky of getting in trouble, unless cops aren't making quotas.

There was just a big bust in my area recently. State cops busted a ring going on in a few area fire halls. Also I came across this, some of you might want to check out:

Illegal here to but I know of at least 3 "private" poker rooms that have huge tourneys once a month and their rake is 10%
