Default How Patient are You

How patient can you be.

The other day I was playing a single table sit and go. I did not rake until the 44th hand. I saw a couple of flops but basically folded rags until that time. If I ever had a playable hand a big raise would come and I folded. It was down to 6 before my first rake, I eventually won the thing. How long can you wait?

what? you lost me.

do you mean how long can i wait in a tournament to win a pot? blinds dictate waiting period. but you normally can pick up small pots or gather some chips without having a hand. but if its an all in fest just post and fold to the money.

In the game I described I tried to take some small pots but every time there was a big raise, I could not win a pot for a while, I had to be patient or risk big calls with rags, and I mean rags, a long bad streak of crap.

Yes, blinds and antes have a large part in determining when you have to shove, but for several of the first few levels of tourneys (single and multiple) you can wait if you have to. I would prefer to accumulate chips for the long haul and usually am not the big grinding rock, but sometimes the situation forces you to play that way.

Thanks,

Ditto Jake Although sometimes rather than poker I'll have some other game open or play in the Arcade here. Passes the time well.

i cant really wait only when also i play mutiple tournaments if i am focused on 1 tourney i will have to play some hands to get my game started im a rather unussual player as some people think in my thread about the KKs(hint hint vito ) im more like a gus hansen player i like to play it all and sometimes bluff hugh having absolutely nothing which really works out for me i kinda have an eye for reading cards online when i reach the limit when i dont have to play every good looking hand im most likely gonna play tighter then everyone else on the table cause thats a good way too pass some time and get reckonized at the table when i pick up a hand like AQ or AK in last position i probably raise it up a little bit bigger then normal when i dont get a call its a good small pot getting me forward everytime i see the oppurtunity

Depends of the day, it's crazy how my poker can change from day to day.
I could wait a hand 40 minutes one day and chose to play aggressively average hands another one... Could be nice to change your style but I know it comes from my addiction
Otherwise I'm a good player
