Default The morons who can never fold an ace

This morning I'm playing a small Head Hunter on BetSafe. I won a few chips first or second hand and am sitting there patiently when I'm dealt kings. There is a raise and a call in front of me - fuck it - all-in. They both call. The raiser has A8 suited would you believe? The other guy has AK, I think that was suited too. There is justification for him calling, but A8? Come on. I am 60+% now with two aces out. And of course what do they flop? I have 20 chips left.

I've said it before and I'll say it again that poker is the game where fortune favours the stupid, though the real moron didn't luck out here, and AK held up. Unfucking real.

Yeah, it's totally annoying when someone calls with a worse hand, but surely that's what you want? In the long run, you will win. Plus, the guy who won, is unlikely to fold his AKs.

Those "morons" feel that since they have an Ace that they have the winning hand already. They will play that Ace until the cows come home or Hell freezes over!! You run into those players so much anymore that it almost makes you want to quit.

Default Kings

Once two persons called the all-in bet (which was a good bet with KK after a raise and a call), you had to know one was sitting with AK. I agree with a prior reply, this player prob will not fold that hand. Personally, with a raise and reraise all-in, my AK or worse goes into the muck without any regrets(of course every decision is situational). When they both showed an A you were in great shape, but there was still two remaining A in the deck, if one comes, you are behind. It happened, but the odds say how often this will happen and in the long run (poker is life long, not a one session game), you will win far more of these encounters than you lose. Keep playing good poker, it will pay.

Do not let the donks get under your skin, just keep playing a good solid style and get into their bankroll, it will happen.

From the fundamental theory of poker ( Sklansky )

"Any time an opponent would have played the hand differently if he had seen your cards, he has made a mistake, and every mistake he makes, causes you to gain"

If they had seen your KK, i fancy BOTH to fold. As they didn't, you gained (although it sure doesn't feel like it)

You made the right play, be happy they both called. You win there 75% - 80% of time.

Hope this helps

Have to remamber this. All in preflop? for what do you really stand to gain early in a tourney but an exit with a boot. All in for when you have the nuts and no chance of buieng sucked out on.....with that being said. What where you thinking but to gamble?

Actually, you want that exact situation early doors in a tourney, while the donks will call with their A8. Better to either double (or triple) up early and have a massive lead to start bullying or bust. Its the only way in the small buy-in internet tourneys.

You aren't folding KK early in a tournament and I wouldnt call with it in that spot.

If they show you aces then thats the way it is, If they show Ax then HAPPY DAYS

edit: and with it being a headhunter even more reason to push them

Hi all, first post. This looks like it is turning into a bad beat post, but the good information is on the first page. It is poker, it is a gamble at times, and all you can do is get your money in while you are ahead. If you continue to do that, early with a chance to triple up, wow, nice congrats I hope you go far. Dont complain about having a small pair and having to fold when a face card flop hits, most of the time you will be losing at this spot in the hand, especially against bad players who love any two face cards, they are the people you see raising in early position with something as weak as QJo or KTo.

Good Luck to everyone at the tables, read your books and win some money!
