Why do you keep rebuying?

I've been playing rebuys a lot lately since the guaranteed money allows for larger payouts.
I may rebuy from time to time, but there are some that will continue to rebuy during that first hour at 10-20x.

If you are the type that plays your game this way, please tell us why?

My beliefes are that you can re-buy numerous times for one of three reasons. The first one is to take chances and see what others are holding in positions you wouldn't normally. The second one was to put more chips in play. The more chips at play, the more the blinds will not get to you and you have more room to play in the later stages. And the third is if your being a complete donkey and like to rebuy a lot.

Some might argue that you can also rebuy if you are having a bad run of cards in the beginning and keep busting, but I would like to think other wise. If you are having a bad run of cards and you keep rebuying because of it, you are basically wasting money because once the rebuy period is over, all it takes is one more bad beat that you have been on a hot streak for and your out with all your rebuys.

I read on FTP one of the pro's talking about rebuy tournaments. Here is that article:

Daniel Negreanu said the following about rebuy tournaments, borrowing from coinflip's site:

Quote:
I still hold the rebuy record and I think I also have second, third and fourth
Daniel 'KidPoker' Negreanu holds the record for having made 48 rebuys at the $1,000 event at the 2006 WSOP.

Quote:
In rebuys there is an inherent advantage for those who are willing to spend more. They are good for me, because I'm all too willing to spend, but I know it is an unfair advantage and I'd rather not have it. I've said this before: I am more than willing to put what's best for poker ahead of what's best for me

The aim of the rebuy tournament should be to make the final table as the payout is a lot larger than your normal freeze-out tournament with the same sized field. Of course we want to final table on all tournaments but final tabling the rebuys are a lot more rewarding. The rebuy period is a great time for building a decent sized stack with marginal holdings you might otherwise fold in a normal freezeout, players tend to play a lot looser knowing they can rebuy if they're beat. It also puts more chips on the table so even if you lose and rebuy, those chips aren't going far. That's my theory anyway.
