PokerStars Japan Relief Effort

By Ian Hiaring, Rakeback.com Poker News Staff Writer

PokerStars Helps JapanPokerStars has not only made it easy to donate a portion of your poker winnings to the relief efforts that are ongoing in the wake of the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster that Japan is reeling from, but they’ve pledged to match all donations from players dollar-for-dollar.

They’ve created two methods for players to make a donation to the Red Cross Relief Effort in Japan.

You can simply transfer any amount to the PokerStars account ‘Japan Fund’, and that amount will automatically be donated to the relief efforts.

Alternatively, you can register for any one (or more) of a series of “dummy” tournaments PokerStars has set up. There is no actual tournament, and the cost of the buy-in will be donated.

Where to find the Japan Relief "Tournaments"

“Tourney-All”, and then typing the word “Japan” in the box after clicking the “Tourney Filter” box.

Regardless of the method you choose to donate, PokerStars is matching all donations made by players.

If you'd like to donate directly to the red cross, please visit the direct donation page.
