Katchalov Added as Team PokerStars Pro

eugene-katchalovPokerStars announced this week that Eugene Katchalov would be joining its stable as a member of Team PokerStars. Katchalov has long been regarded as a top online professional under the username 'MyRabbiFoo'.

In addition to his online success, Katchalov has also earned more than $6 million playing live tournament poker since he turned pro in 2003.

Katchalov won the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller event, beating 37 other players to win $1.5 million.  He scored a bigger win with his nearly $2.5 million victory in the 2007 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, a WPT event.

Lee Jones Returns to PokerStars

lee-jonesPokerStars has a Head of Home Games, and the name is a familiar one. Lee Jones is back with the site that made him a household name, albeit in a much smaller role.

PokerStars introduced Home Games earlier this year, offering players the ability to operate their own leagues and private cash games. Earlier this week Lee Jones was named the Head of Home Games for PokerStars.

Jones is a well-respected member of the poker industry, serving as the PokerStars Poker Room Manager from 2003-2007. He also spent time with the EPT and Cake Poker, until late last year when he resigned from Cake due to a disagreement in the direction of the company.

Players have always loved Jones, and his return to PokerStars, even if in a diminished role, reflects PokerStars’ acknowledgment of this fact.

Exactly what Jones’ duties will be remains to be seen, but one thing is certain if you read the forums, players are welcoming his return.
