Blom Continues to Roll in PokerStars SuperStar Showdown

By Ian Hiaring, Rakeback.com Poker News Staff Writer

Team PokerStars Pro Victor 'Isildur1' BlomThe PokerStars SuperStar Showdown took the stakes down a notch last weekend. After soundly defeating Scott “urnotindangr” Palmer and getting the better of fellow Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu before that, Viktor 'isildur1' Blom faced competition from an online qualifier hailing from Poland known as 'Mastermixus'.

The challenger was given a bankroll of $15,000 and 2,500 hands of $5/$10 NLHE to see what he/she could do with it against one of the hottest heads-up players today.

As it turned out the match was fairly uneventful in terms of action. Mastermixus was content to let Blom take more than his share of pots pre-flop and stuck to playing mostly big hands post-flop.

The swings were few and at no point was either player in danger of stacking off their entire $15K. For the most part it appeared as if the online qualifier was simply happy to be there and was looking to save as much of the allotted $15,000 during the three hour match.

In the end Blom found himself ahead of the challenger by a mere $1,279, allowing Mastermixus to walk away from the match with nearly $14K.

Blom’s overall record in the SuperStar Showdown improved to 7-2 and his total profits during the promotion now exceeds $350,000.
