PokerStars is frequently a leader of the poker industry in software developments, and this week they released a mobile poker client in Italy that tons of players have been looking forward to.
In late November, PokerStars first introduced PokerStars mobile in Italy. At the time, it was only a play-money client. Apparently testing of that software amongst Italian clients was successful, and this week they rolled out the real-money version.
That means that Italian players can participate in real-money cash games, Sit & Go's, and tournaments hosted by PokerStars via their mobile phones. Players can choose to simply bring the game with them if they must leave their computers during a session or deep tournament run.
Although at the moment PokerStars mobile is available exclusively to players on PokerStars.it, one can reasonably speculate that if it is successful in Italy, PokerStars will follow through with similar releases in other countries. Perhaps even the primary PokerStars.com domain is a possibility in the future.
Currently the app is only available for iPhone and iPad, but an Android version is expected to be released in the near future.
In other news, the average productivity of Italian workers just dropped.
