Poker is a game that has historically been dominated by men. More men play the game, and far more world-class players are men.
Of course there are exceptions to that rule, and perhaps no exception is more noteworthy than Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst.
Poker fans may sometimes debate amongst themselves to answer "who are the best female poker players?", but over the past few years it has become increasingly obvious that Selbst deserves to top that list. In fact, she very well may be the best No-Limit Hold'em tournament player in the world.
Earlier this week, Selbst won the $25,000 buy-in High Roller title at the PokerStars Carribean Adventure to earn $1,424,420.
With the victory, she overtook Kathy Leibert to become the highest-earning female player of all-time.
At age 28, Selbst has accumulated a massive $7 million in lifetime live tournament earnings. Her accomplishments are incredible: 2 WSOP bracelets, 2 NAPT Main Event titles, 2 LAPC event wins, and a victory in the Partouche main event.
Considering how well she's been playing, it will be interesting to see how high on the overall all-time money list she'll climb in years to come.
