The first major online win of his career came for Daniel Negreanu in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) event 39. The $5,200 buy in event featured 6 max PLO and offered a guarantee of $400k.
In the end, the guarantee was dwarfed by the eventual prize pool of $900k and the Team PokerStars Pro took home $216k for his victory.
Daniel Negreanu went into the final table with a big chip lead and maintained it to the end. He had a five to one chip advantage by the time the tournament was down to two players.
The Heads Up battle was against FA_Morgoth who won over $68k less than a week ago by taking down SCOOP tournament 23, a $109 rebuy PLO event. Add that to the $148k he won for coming second to Daniel and he too has won over $200k this week on PokerStars.
Just last month Daniel won the inaugural WSOP Asia Pacific Main Event for over $1m and two weeks ago picked up another $420k for fourth place in the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final.
His lifetime tournament winnings now exceed $18m including his online earnings.
If he can bring the top of his game to the WSOP, which starts at the end of this month, he will have a great chance to increase his bracelet count--which currently stands at an impressive five.
