This year’s Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) boasts a 46 event schedule, with 3 separate buy-in levels for each event, catering to all players and bankrolls. In all, that’s 138 tournaments. The series guarantees a staggering $40,000,000 in pay-outs.
SCOOP began on May 10th and runs through May 24th. Buy-ins range from as low as $7.50 all the way up to $21,000, for a “Heads-Up High Roller” event. The main event is on May 24th at 2:30 pm ET and guarantees a 1st place prize of $1,000,000. The three main event buy-ins are $109/$1050/$10,300.
Thus far in the tournament series, PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier has stolen the show, taking down two separate events on back to back days. On May 11th he won the $2,100 Fixed Limit Badugi championship, a day later he did it again, winning the $2,100 No Limit Draw tournament. The two victories combined netted the seasoned pro $73,600.
There are still over 30 events to be played, that’s 90 tournaments that include all poker game variations and tournament formats. Open a PokerStars account and qualify for events for as little as $0.11 or 1 frequent player point (FPP).
