PokerStars RCOOP – Regional Championships of Online Poker
The PokerStars Regional Championships of Online Poker are a set of several different tournament series that are open exclusively to players from particular areas of the globe. The RCOOP model replicates everything that’s great about the WCOOP and SCOOP—including substantive satellite schedules and guaranteed prize pools—while giving different geographic regions a chance to determine their best players.
Each RCOOP features several different tournaments of varying game types. Most will be No Limit Hold’em, but the schedule will have a few wildcards that can be tailored to the preferences of the individual regions.
Each RCOOP has its own Player of the Series competition in which tournament entrants score points for finishing in the money in a tournament. Point totals are tracked through an official online leaderboard, and the player in the top spot at the end of the RCOOP wins a prize specially selected for that region. A PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Tournament Package, six months free entry into the Sunday Million, and an EPT Prize Package are just a few of the prizes that were awarded to RCOOP Players of the Series in 2010.
These are the 13 different regions that were represented in the 2010 RCOOPs:
- Russian Open
- Nordic
- Baltics
- USA
- Canadian
- Germanics
- Asia Pacifics
- Meditteranean
