What is rake?
What is rake?
Solution
Rake is a term used of the service fee that casino gaming operators charge from players.
In traditional casino games like roulette, the house makes profit by accepting bets from players with odds in favor of the casino.
In some casino games like poker the players are betting against other players, and not against the house. So in order to make profit the casino instead charges rake from players playing at their poker room. Rake is generally 5% of cash game total pot or 10% of tournament ticket value.
Example: If you buy a $10+1 tournament ticket, the $10 goes towards the prize pool and $1 is rake.
