CoinPoker’s Worldwide Poker Championship Pays Out $88 Million, Beating GTD – Here’s What’s Next

CoinPoker’s Global Online Poker Championship concluded on September 28th after 37 days, paying out $88.44 million against its $50,000,000 guarantee. The series drew 2,122,920 entries from 48,815 players in 172 countries across its Europe, LATAM, and Asia schedules.

The GOPC Pays 177% of Its Guarantee

The Global Online Poker Championship ran from August 23rd to September 28th, with buy-ins from $2.20 to $25,500 across three time-zone-tuned regional schedules.

Across the series:

  • Prize money paid: $88.44 million, 177% of the $50,000,000 guarantee
  • Tournaments: 6,231, including 2,307 events, 3,429 satellites, and 495 Day 1 flights
  • Entries: 2,122,920 from 48,815 unique players
  • Medals awarded: 6,012 across 2,004 medal events
  • Tournament hands dealt: 18,882,507

After blowing past the GOPC’s guarantee, CoinPoker is showing a clear history of exceeding planned series prize pools. A few months ago in June, the $25 million guaranteed World Poker Masters ended with $48 million paid, over 190% of the original guarantee.

The GOPC’s Flagship Events Deliver Its Biggest Prize Pools

Eight GOPC events paid out prize pools of $1,000,000 or more, all of them from three parts of the schedule: two of the Main Events, the four CoinMillion GOPC Editions, and the series’ high roller tournaments.

Three Main Events Draw 53,755 Entries

The three Main Events carried $4,250,000 in combined guarantees.

  • $530 Main Event ($3,000,000 GTD): 7,414 entries across 17 Day 1 flights built a $3,707,000 prize pool, and siema won $423,606, the biggest score of the series
  • $55 Global Main ($1,000,000 GTD): 21,281 entries from 6,195 players, won by PenthousePrinz for $57,710
  • $11 Global Mini Main ($250,000 GTD): 25,060 entries from 8,809 players, the largest field of the series when counting flights, won by Soygeld333 for $24,050

Four CoinMillion GOPC Editions Draw 20,892 Entries

The CoinMillion ran every Sunday in September with a $1,000,000 guarantee, and the last three editions all surpassed it.

  • September 6th: 4,986 entries, won by fish2025 for $119,500
  • September 13th: 5,321 entries and a $1,064,200 prize pool, won by FINALVERDICT7 for $123,979
  • September 20th: 5,181 entries and a $1,036,200 prize pool, won by GBortoleto for $121,753
  • September 27th: 5,404 entries and a $1,080,800 prize pool, won by TheKingOfCatrupe for $80,896 after a three-way deal

In the final GOPC CoinMillion, the players made the deal and then agreed to go all-in for the trophy.

In the September 13th edition, Doritos23 finished second for $78,219 after qualifying through a $25 satellite, the most valuable satellite conversion of the series.

Two High Rollers Build Seven-Figure Prize Pools

The $25,500 Super High Roller Championship drew 51 entries on September 22nd for a $1.27 million prize pool. Trance won it for $397,035, the second-biggest score of the GOPC.

The $1,500 CoinMasters BTC High Roller drew 1,149 entries for a $1.64 million prize pool, with PistolWhip taking the title for $300,025.

CoinPoker ambassador Mario Mosböck placed 7th in the event.

Standout Performers Across the GOPC Schedule

With 48,815 players competing over 37 days, several individual results stood out beyond the tournament titles. The following players led the series in total winnings, podium points, satellite value, and consistency.

siema topped the series money list with $480,542 from 136 events. DRATINI finished $3,680 behind, while Trance placed third on $452,008 from just ten cashes.

agustinverna entered the final day four points behind Yafish, then took silver in the $109 Monday Sprint [Hyper] to win the Podium Race on 117 points. The Argentine player won ten Gold Medals, the most of the series, none above a $33 buy-in.

Runner-up Yafish played a series-high 955 events and led the GOPC in cashes, with 340, and total medals, with 19.

Ddango turned a $0.55 step into a seat in the $55 Opening Ceremony via a $5.50 step, then finished second for $14,114. That return of 25,661 times the original satellite buy-in was the biggest of any satellite qualifier in the series.

Only three players cashed on every day of the GOPC. inghetata led them with $73,418, ahead of blacz2000 and Costineles.

The One Arrives Next on CoinPoker’s Tournament Schedule

The One, a new annual tournament with a $250 buy-in and CoinPoker’s largest guarantee for a single event at $5,000,000, begins October 4th, with $1,000,000 and an engraved trophy guaranteed for the winner.

This is the largest single tournament prize CoinPoker has ever held, and the $1,000,000 first-place prize will also be a new record.

Satellites for The One are already running in the CoinPoker app.

Players can qualify for the $5 million event for free by working through satellites.
